Ernest Clain Bannister, 89, of Fayetteville, died July 8, 2011.

He was born August 10, 1921 in Pickens County, Georgia, the fifth son of the late Rufus and Ida Bannister.

He was preceded in death by first wife Rosalene Fletcher Bannister; parents; four brothers, Broughton, Alman, Linc and Rex Bannister.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Joyce Tate Bannister; brother-in-law Bill Tate of Sharpsburg, GA; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Janice and Joe Lynch of Fayetteville; numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. Read More»

She was a long-time resident of Fayette County, where she was a member of Fayetteville First Baptist Church, and was director of WMU and leader for Acteens.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Warren H. Bartlett.

John C. “Mack” Bray, age 88, was born in Fayette County on May 29, 1923, the fifth of eight brothers, to Ruby Brown Bray and Burgess Bray.

He was a proud veteran of World War II, serving as a carpenter general in England, France and Germany from January 1943 to December 1945. He continued to work as a carpenter and later as a Fayette County Building Inspector from 1978 until retirement in 1992. Mr. David Lee Crabtree, 56, of Brooks, passed away on June 24, 2011 following a short illness.

He was a carpenter and was self-employed.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert Lee Lester Crabtree and Amy Vera Galloway Crabtree, and brothers Roy Crabtree and Lester Crabtree.
