Melba Taylor of Peachtree City

Mrs. Melba Taylor of Peachtree City passed away Jan. 7, 2012 after a 6 month battle with cancer. She was employed by Avis Rent A Car at the Atlanta Airport for 35 years.

Mrs. Taylor was preceded in death by her mother, Ruth Edwards and son, Michael Lamar Taylor and is survived by her husband of 45 years Felton Taylor of Peachtree City; son, Keith Taylor and his wife Tammy of Fayetteville; step-father, Henry G. William G. Nordmark, age 82, of Riverdale

Mr. William G. Nordmark,"Bill", of Riverdale, Ga., passed away on Dec. 29, 2011 at the age of 82.

Mr. Nordmark was a kind, loving and handsome man who always made people he came in contact with feel special.

Bill was a dedicated employee of Delta Air Lines, who rose through the ranks and retired as the System Manager of Stations with 45 years of service. He loved to sing and was a founding member and president of the Southland Chorus. Read More»

Donald Stuart Tuel, 79, of Fayetteville

Mr. Donald Stuart Tuel, 79, of Fayetteville, passed away on Dec. 27, 2011.

Mr. Tuel was a proud veteran, who served his country in the US Air Force. Following his military career, he joined Piedmont Airlines in 1962, which later became US Airways.

He was a lead mechanic and retired with 35 years of service He was also the flight engineer for Atlanta Skylarks Travel Club.

Mr. Theron Banks, age 73 of Loganville, Ga. formerly of

Fayetteville, passed away Dec. 24, 2011.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Mae Babb Banks.

He is survived by his wife, Dolly Banks and daughters, Cathy Banks, Robbie Walden, Donna Staples, Angela New, sister, Joe Ann Dean.

A service celebrating the life of T.R. Banks was held Friday, Dec. 30, 2011 at Tom M. Wages Snellville Chapel.

Mrs. Gwendolyn "Gwen" Elvie Pennington Price, age 74, of Concord, Ga. passed away Dec. 23, 2011.

She was born on Oct. 17, 1937 in Ragland, Ala.

Henry Thomas Lau, of Peachtree City, Ga. died unexpectedly Thursday, Dec. 15, 2011 at Piedmont Fayette Hospital.

Born in Philadelphia, Pa. on Aug. 21, 1950 to Henry and Dorothy Lau.

Stan Braxton, MSgt, USAF (Retired), 51, of Fayetteville, N.C. passed away Dec. 16, 2011.

Mr. Braxton served his country & retired from the USAF after 22 years of service, 17 of which were with the 24th Special Tactics Squadron as a Combat Controller.

After her fight with Non Hodgkins Lymphoma, Vicki Bensch Sandberg, 60, of Fayetteville, Ga. since 2005, originally from West Palm Beach, Fla., died peacefully on Dec. 13, 2011. She was born on Feb. 7, 1951.

Vicki spent her career as an administrative assistant for lawyers, United Way of Palm Beach County and Clayton County Superior Court.

Henry Alonzo Casey, Jr., age 76, of 225 Hospital St., Plains, died at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2011. A native of Sasser, Mr. Casey was born May 15, 1935, the son of the late Henry Alonzo Casey, Sr. and Fannie Rigsby Casey.
