Helen Fletcher Sams, M.D., age 89

June 5, 1922 - February 23, 2013

Dr. Helen Fletcher Sams passed away at home on Saturday, Feb. 23, at the age of 89.

She was fondly and respectfully know by most in the Fayette County community as "Dr. Helen."

William Howard Warren, 76, of Peachtree City,

William "Bill" Howard Warren, 76, of Peachtree City, Ga. passed away Friday, Feb. 22, 2013.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence Osborne & Charlotte Howard Warren and his brother, Richard Warren.

He is survived by his loyal & loving wife of 55 years Ellen Hale Warren; daughters Lisa Warren & Jane Warren, both from Smyrna, Ga.

Brandon Camacho, 16, of Peachtree City

Mr. Brandon Camacho, 16, of Peachtree City, Ga. died Feb. 9, 2013.

He was a member of Jovenes en Cristo (Youth in Christ Ministry) at Holy Trinity Catholic Church.  He was a junior at Starr's Mill High School where he loved and excelled in weight-lifting and physical fitness. His goal was to become a physical therapist.

He is survived by his parents Alex & Iraida, brothers Alex, Jr. and Derek, all of Peachtree City; grandparents Carmen Berrios, Alejo Camacho, and Cristino Lopez, as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins. Read More»

Margaret Helen Jastrzebski, age 88 of Senoia

Margaret Helen Jastrzebski, age 88 of Senoia, Ga. passed away Friday, Feb. 15, 2013 at Cartersville Medical Center.

Mrs. Jastrzebski was cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date.

She is survived by her sons, Walter Jastrzebski of Canton, John Jastrzebski of Woodstock, William Jastrzebski of Rydell; daughters, Joellen Rosemas of Senoia, Patricia Johnson of Chunchula, Ala.; sister, Betty Millwood of Russelville, Ky., also surviving are 10 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Robert Joseph Ostapower, Sr. of Peachtree City

Robert "Bob" Joseph Ostapower, Sr. of Peachtree City, Ga. passed away Monday, Feb. 18, 2013 at the age of 76.

He was born in Philadelphia, Pa. on Dec. 13, 1936 to Frank and Josephine Labenski Ostapower.

Bob was a Project Manager in commercial construction. Bob loved his family most of all but also loved cruises and vacationing at the beach. He loved his Georgia Bulldogs and his Philadelphia Phillies. He was a long time member of the Knights of Columbus and was very involved in the Boy Scouts of America.

Helene E. D'Arcangelo

After a long struggle with lung cancer, Helene E. D'Arcangelo passed away at Pine Pointe Hospice in Macon, Ga. on Feb. 16, 2013 at the age of 78.

She was born on Feb. 4, 1935 to the late Eugene and Elizabeth Prohaske of Brooklyn, N.Y. Helene graduated from The Barbizon School of Modeling, New York, N.Y. in 1953. She modeled under the name of Helen Walker. On Oct. 17, 1954, she married career USAF officer Arcangelo M. D'Arcangelo in New York City. Opelousas-Born July 20, 1966 to Rebecca Davis and Elton Henry; Carla Yvette Henry Allen; passed away peacefully with family and friends at her side at a private hospital in Fayetteville, Ga., at the age of 46.

She attended Grolee Elementary, Opelousas Junior High, Opelousas Sr. High and Southern University and A & M College where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a Masters in Public Administration & Public Policy. Mary Irene Shaw, age 92, passed away of natural causes in Peachtree City, Ga. on Tuesday, February 12, 2013.

Mary Irene Kennedy Shaw was born in Easton, Maine on Feb. 29, 1920. She graduated from Easton High School in 1937 as valedictorian. She was a lifelong member of the Rebekah Lodge and served as a state officer in Maine.

She loved her family and her grandchildren. She was an excellent bowler and enjoyed all of her bowling leagues. She was also quite a line dancer. Read More»

Allen Anderson Jackson, age 91, of Tyrone

Mr. Allen Anderson Jackson, age 91, of Tyrone, Ga. passed away on Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013 at Piedmont Fayette Hospital in Fayetteville, Ga. after a short illness.

He was born in White Plains, Ga. on Aug. 5, 1921 to the late Arthur and Estelle Anderson.

He is also preceded in death by his wife, Lucille Hart Jackson and a daughter Angie Jackson.
