James ("Jim") Melville Landers, of Peachtree City, Ga., 78, born in Little Rock, Ark., passed from this earth and went to Heaven on October 19, 2014.

Jim is survived by his wife Rebecca Landers of Peachtree City, Ga., married 56 years. He is survived by his three children, Kelly Baker-Barnes and husband Craig Barnes, Colonel Kevin Landers and his wife Melody, and Brian Landers and wife Suzie; 12 grandchildren; and sister, Natalie Goss of North Little Rock, Ark. Walter George Trancynger, 64, of Fayetteville, passed away October 9, 2014.

He was born in Yonkers, New York on August 10, 1950 of Scottish/Polish descent. He graduated from Yonkers High School on June 24, 1968. He passed away in his home under Hospice care after complications from Congestive Heart Failure. Lillian Elizabeth Helms McCay, Age 89 of Fayetteville, Ga. died Saturday, October 11, 2014.

Mrs. McCay was born March 18, 1925 in Glencoe, Ala.

Rodney H Joyner, 55, Peachtree City, Ga. passed away Monday, October 13, 2014.

He is preceded in death by his parents Woody and Ginny Joyner.

He is survived by his brothers Greg (Anne) Joyner of Peachtree City, Ga. and Jeff (Sherry) Joyner of Canby, Ore.; aunt: Lovelle Frank of Bay City, Mich. He had several nieces, nephews and cousins.

John Louis Brittis, 88, passed away on October 7, 2014 in Enfield, New Hampshire, where he had lived with his daughter and her family.

John was born on April 1, 1926 in Yonkers, N.Y.; the son of Nicola and Mary Brittis. John grew up in Yonkers, New York. He later served in World War II along with his brother Nicholas. In 1949, John graduated from New York University and on September 10,1950 he married the love of his life, Catherine Gallo. Harry “Butch” Shaver, 70, Peachtree City, passed away Tuesday, October 7, 2014.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Wanda; son Eric (Suzana); daughter Tracy (Johnathan) Utecht; and grandchildren Peyton & Sophia.

A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, October 10, 2014 at  10 a.m.  at St. Matthews Catholic Church, Tryone. Burial will follow at Westminster Memorial Gardens, Peachtree City, Ga.

Wiley Joseph Williams, Jr., 88 of Moreland

Wiley Joseph ("Joe") Williams, Jr., 88 of Moreland, died September 26. He was the son of the late Pastor Wiley Joseph Williams, Sr. and Annie Lucy Tankersley, on December 2, 1925 at Blue Ridge, Georgia.  He grew up in Ocilla and graduated from Ocilla High School in 1943. He entered the US Navy in August of 1943. He served in the Pacific during WWII.  

He graduated from Mercer University and later earned a Master's Degree from Georgia State University. He was an entrepreneur and a CPA. He had a CPA firm in Newnan for many years.   Read More»
