Reverend William Ralph McBroom was born in Lamar County on August 19, 1918. He entered heaven on December 1, 2014 at the age of 96. He is known as Ralph to his family, but in the business world, he became known as Bill McBroom. He was loved as Papa and Grandpa by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was the son of the late George North Sparrow and Sarah Holland Sparrow of Tifton.
