Dennis John Berkelbaugh

Dennis John Berkelbaugh, 72, of Fayetteville, passed away April 8, 2014.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. For 27 years he worked as a manager of Eastern Airlines and later for Progressive Lighting in Braselton, Ga. Mr. Berkelbaugh was a volunteer fireman and EMT in Brooks, a former Fayette County Commissioner from 1981-1984, and more recently a volunteer at Fayette Youth Protection at Gracie's Closet/Bloom. He was a member of Fayetteville First United Methodist Church.

Jeanette (Jan) G. Hall of Peachtree City, Ga., passed away on Monday, April 7, 2014 in Houston, Texas with her children and grandchildren at her side.

She was born in Rockton, Ill., on June 13, 1928 to the late Louis and Eleanor Charboneau. She was educated in Rockford, Ill. and married Ralph (Bill) William Hall on April 3, 1948.

As a young woman, Jan was a swimming instructor and life guard and handed down her love of water to her children. Jan also worked as a librarian in Farmers Branch, Texas for many years where she passed on her passion for reading to all she touched. Read More»

John D. Ferrell, 77, of Fayetteville, Ga., but a native of Hapeville, passed away April 4, 2014. He was a Batallion Chief for the City of Atlanta Fire Department. He served his country in the U.S. Army doing Military Intelligence. He was an avid sports fan who loved his Atlanta Braves, Falcons, and the Georgia Bulldogs. Bernice Jeanette Baker, 82, of Fayetteville passed away April 5, 2014. Mrs. Baker was raised in Cobb County and later moved to Forest Park to raise her family, she later moved to Fayetteville in 1998. She was a faithful member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church.

Wilbur Charles Cato, Jr.

Wilbur Charles Cato, Jr., 68, of Fayetteville, passed away at home on April 1, 2014.   

Charlie was a 1964 graduate of Russell High School. He joined the armed forces and was awarded the Purple Heart while proudly serving as a Buck Sergeant in the U.S. Army 101st Airborne during the Vietnam War as a medic. Charlie retired from Delta Air Lines after over 30 years of service.

Osborn Cordy “O.C.” Bullock, 90, of Fayetteville, formerly of Druid Hills, passed away April 2, 2014.

He served his country in the U.S. Army Air Corp during WWII.  He moved to Atlanta as a teenager and began a family business where his father was the originator of the “pork skins”. She is survived by her husband, Ralph M. Towell, of Fayetteville, Ga., son, William Lee Webb, daughter-in-law, Ann Hepburn Webb and grandson, Andrew Hepburn Webb, all of Alexandria, Va.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, William Herman Webb and brother, Carl Holmes Fisher of Charlotte, N.C.
