Mrs. Bertha Moon, 84, of Fayetteville, died January 22, 2011.

She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband James Moon and her daughter Wanda Moon.

She is survived by her son David & Brenda Moon, Sr. of Athens, GA and daughter Janet Behrens of Fayetteville; grandsons David & Amy Moon, Jr. and Joe & Julie Moon, as well as five great-grandchildren, all of Athens; sister Helen Abbott of Fayetteville and brother Bobby & Barbara Rogers of Acworth. Mrs. Susan Katherine Rosa, 88, of Brooks, passed away on January 17, 2011.

Mrs. Rosa moved to Georgia from Florida in 1994. After her son passed away, she began crocheting blankets and newborn caps for the Project Linus. When she wasn’t spending time with her family, she loved reading and playing cards.

Melba O’Quinn Purcell, 86, of Fayetteville, went to be with the Lord and her Savior on January 16, 2011, from complications of pneumonia.

Melba was born in Adel, Cook County, Georgia on January 14, 1925 to the late Serena Iowa and Willie Washington O’Quinn. After graduating from business school, she moved to College Park, Georgia, and began her secretarial career with Delta Air Lines, Inc. Inez Jones Pye, 98, of Fayetteville died January 15, 2011.

Mrs. Pye was born in Tyrone May 26, 1912 to Willie & Daisy Jones where she was raised and lived until she married William Pye in August 1931, and moved to Fayetteville and has lived here since. She is preceded in death by her parents and husband of 60 years.
