Mr. Kenneth Dale Crittenden, 49, of Hampton, passed away on February 11, 2011.

Mr. Crittenden is survived by his mother Sarah Hester; brothers, Marvin Crittenden and his wife Penny, Danny Crittenden, and Ricky Crittenden and his wife Pam.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 17, 2011 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Mowell Funeral Home, Fayetteville, with Pastor Ken Magness officiating. Burial will follow at Banks Cemetery. Mr. Robert “Bob” John Bales, 85, of Fayetteville, passed away on February 11, 2011.

Mr. Bales was a WWII survivor of the Normandy invasion and went ashore at Omaha Beach. He later served under General G.S. Patton, Jr. during the occupation of Berlin. He was a recipient of the Bronze Star and Purple Heart.

Mr. Arthur Brooke Ballard, Sr., age 91, passed away Wednesday, February 2, 2011. Mr. Ballard was born Sept. 1, 1919 in Fulton County.

Mr. Ballard was a long-time member of The Rock Baptist Church in Fayetteville.

He was preceded in death by his son, Arthur B. Ballard, Jr. and is survived by his wife of 72 years, Dolly Ballard of Fayetteville; sons, William Richard (Bill) Ballard and his wife, Betty of Tucker; Mark Ballard and his wife, Joy of Peachtree City; daughter, Jeannie Ballard Wright of Fayetteville; 12 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren and 3 on the way. George William Bishop, age 91, of Fayetteville, died at Henry County Medical Center on February 11, 2011.

He was born June 13, 1919 in Aucilla, FL, the son of George Thomas Bishop and Alice Eva Anderson Bishop. Mr. Bishop was preceded in death by his sister Vera Bishop Jones. Mr. Bishop was retired from Delta Airlines and he had a septic tank business for many years in the Fayette County area. He was a veteran of World War II serving in Okinawa. Mr. Donald Kelley Knowles, 74, of Riverdale

Mr. Donald Kelley Knowles, 74, of Riverdale, passed away on February 9, 2011, following a valiant battle with cancer.

Mr. Knowles was a veteran who proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps, retiring after 20 years of service which included two tours of duty in Vietnam. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend and it was said that he never met a stranger.
