Patricia A. Lang

Patricia A. "Pat" Lang, Peachtree City, died Feb. 10, 2010. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Luretha Kee Lang. She was born Nov. 16, 1929 in Asher, Okla. and a nurse in Norman, Okla. until her marriage in 1949. She moved to the Atlanta area and was employed by Avon for 30 years. She enjoyed playing bingo, and watching football, basketball and ice skating. She requested not to have a memorial service which was honored. Read More»

Michael David McGuffey, Palmetto, died Feb. 12, 2010. He was a 2009 graduate of Arlington Christian School and was employed at Publix in Tyrone. Marjorie D. Moseley
Marjorie D. Moseley, 89, Sharpsburg, formerly of Fayetteville, died Feb. 9, 2010. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond L. Moseley Sr., and a brother, 1st Lt. Clifford Deibler. She was born in Sherrill, N. Y., and was a graduate of Plattsburgh State University. She and her husband were owner-cofounders of Moseley Linoleum & Tile Co., in East Point. She was a longtime member of Fayette Presbyterian Church. Services were at the Carl J. Mowell chapel with the Rev. Cliff Haddox officiating. Interment was at Westminster Memorial Gardens, Peachtree City. Survivors include a daughter, Ann Moseley and Bradford Conley, Sharpsburg; step-children Raymond and Maggie Moseley Jr., Deridder, La., Gwendolyn Moseley and Dick Dickenson, Crossville, Tenn.; a granddaughter, Kristin Conley and Alan Lamble, Walton, Ky.; and a grandson, Michael C. Gladys Carson

Gladys Carson, 78, Fayette County, died Feb. 6, 2010. She was a longtime owner and operator of Jackson General Store. Services were at the Carl J. Mowell chapel with the Rev. Jack Lanham officiating.

Survivors include her husband, Billy Carson; daughters, Debora Carson, Fayette County, and Vickie and John Zyla, Baltimore, Md.; seven grandchildren; and sisters, Doris and Ed Futyma, Hungtingtown, Md., and Judy and Bruce Bates, Churchton, Md. Benjamin Franklin McLaughlin

Benjamin "Ben" Franklin McLaughlin, 73, Fayetteville, died Feb. 6, 2010. He was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin and Marguerite McLaughlin. Frances Maloy Nordlund

Frances Maloy Nordlund, 94, Peachtree City, died Feb. 8, 2010. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur J. and Nora Bowdon Upchurch, husbands, W. T. Maloy, L. D. Rosser, and Howard Nordlund, and her great-great-grandchild, Ryane Taylor Rush. She was retired from Sears Roebuck with 28 years of service as a retail collection supervisor. She was a member of Flat Creek Baptist Church and a member of the Praise Sunday School class. She was a 28 plus year survivor of breast cancer and a longtime volunteer with the Reach to Recovery Program through the American Cancer Society. Read More»

Mildred O. Lasiter, 90, Peachtree City, died Feb. 8, 2010. She was member of the First Baptist Church of Peachtree City and the Seekers Sunday School class. Services were at Carmichael-Hemperley Funeral Home chapel with interment at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, Tucker. Survivors include her husband, William H. Lasiter, Peachtree City; a son, Billy and Gail Lasiter, Peachtree City, a daughters, Dianne Lasiter Kalvelage, Peachtree City; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Charlie Vera Frank

Charlie Vera Frank, 86, died Feb. 9, 2010. She was born July 30, 1923 in Atlanta. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles P. and Vera Lottie Smith, and her husband, Richard P. Frank. She found her name, "Charlie" a source of conversation and even got a draft notice in World War II. She was a prolific reader and also enjoyed driving, wearing out numerous vehicles.
