Jesse Outlar, retired sports editor of The Atlanta Constitution

The popular sports writer, Jesse Outlar, passed away Saturday, April 9, 2011 to go to what he called the Big Sleep.

Outlar was born to Jesse P. Outlar and Lois Mangham in Finleyson, Georgia. The family settled in Omega where Outlar started his love affair with newspapers and sports. He had his own route at the age of seven delivering the Atlanta Journal, Atlanta Constitution and the Jacksonville Times-Union. Mrs. Anne Emerson, age 90, of Fayetteville, died April 8, 2011.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, William Donahue Emerson.

Lareen Peeples, loving wife, mother, proud grandmother, and friend, 56, of Fayetteville, passed away April 7, 2011.

Mrs. Peeples was retired from the U.S. government at FORSCOM Headquarters G-3/5/7 Chief Force Management. She was also a member of the First Baptist Church of Fayetteville.
