Haywood L. Freeman, 59, of Newnan departed his life on September 3, 2011 at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born March 13, 1952 in Chattanooga, Tennessee to Mrs. Jessie L. Freeman Whatley and the late Mr. Charlie Freeman.

He was preceded in death by his stepfather, John C. Whatley.

Louise Dickinson Webb, 58, of Fayetteville

Louise Dickinson Webb, 58, beloved wife of Bill, died September 3, 2011 of complications from ovarian cancer.

She was born on May 5, 1953 to Mr. and Mrs. Jacob McGavock Dickinson, III of Nashville, TN. She graduated from the Harpeth Hall School in 1971 and from the University of Tennessee with a BA in 1975.

Louis M.E. Thys, age 87, died Sunday September 4, 2011 at Ashley Glen Assisted Living Center in Peachtree City, GA.

He was born in Bandung, Indonesia, the son of Mathias Thijs and Mathilda (Hijmans) Thijs.

He is survived by six children; Yvonne Marvel, Frank Thijs, Joyce Pilch, Wil Thijs and Lilian Thijs; eleven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; four brothers and four sisters. Read More»

Rex Howard Fowler, 80, of Fayetteville, passed away on September 2, 2011.

Mr. Fowler was a 14-year member of Inman United Methodist Church where he sang in the choir. He retired from FAA as an Air Traffic Controller. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a member of Kiwanis and enjoyed working with the Little League and Boy Scouts in Fayette County. He loved to study WWII history and worked as a Docent at the Carter Center for 15 years. Mary Lois Clark Davis

Mary Lois Clark Davis was born in McKeesport, Pa., on April 19, 1926, and died after a brief illness on Aug. 25, 2011.

She grew up in the greater Pittsburgh area and graduated from McKeesport High School in 1944. The date was June 6, 1944, to be exact--D-Day, and that event which overshadowed her transition from high school to college had a profound effect on her life as it did so many of “The Greatest Generation." Marda L. Suliga, of Hillsborough

Marda L. Suliga (nee: Enbody), of Hillsborough died Thursday, Aug. 25th, at the Somerset Medical Center. She was 81.

Born in Toledo, Ohio, she lived in Colonia for over 50 years before moving to Hillsborough five years ago.

She worked in the Human Resources Department of Johnson & Johnson in New Brunswick for many years before her retirement.

She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Mayflower Compact.

Her husband, Edward J. Suliga, Sr. died in 1979. Her son, John Suliga died in 2002. Read More»

Curtiss Fredrick Ross, age 96, of Peachtree City

He was born Dec. 4, 1914, in Buffalo, N.Y. Mr. Ross was a World War II Veteran, serving as Private 1st Class 31st Cavalry Reconnaissance Troop, M-1 rifle sharpshooter, from 1943 to 1945, in the South Pacific Islands.

He was discharged from the war with a serious back injury. Shortly after the War, he and his wife Arlene, moved to south Florida and raised five children. In 1998 they moved to Peachtree City.
