Ruth H. Cook

Ruth H. Cook passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 20, 2012, after a brief illness. She was 89 years of age.

Mrs. Cook was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, John (Jack) Richard Cook, as well as her parents George and Leonie Hausamann.

Ruth is survived by her two children, Barbara R. Sudol of Oak Ridge, N.J.; Jack R. Cook and his wife Diane M. Cook of Peachtree City, Ga., as well as three grandchildren, Kevin Sudol, Michael Cook and Emily Cook. Read More»

Mr. Curtis Eugene Petty, of Fayetteville, passed away on May 20, 2012 at the age of 52.

Curtis was a generous family man with a big heart. He would routinely go "over and above" to help others in need. He loved all types of music and taught himself how to play the guitar. James L. Friday, Sr., 73, of Peachtree City

James "Jim" L. Friday, Sr., 73, of Peachtree City, passed away on May 14, 2012.

He was born in Birmingham, Ala., in 1939, graduated from Lee High School in Jacksonville, Fla. in 1957. He then entered the U.S. Navy in 1957, serving aboard submarines until 1966.

He married Marion Forehand in 1957 and was hired as a pilot by Eastern Airlines in 1966. Jim founded Mid-Georgia Courier, Inc. in 1982 and was one of the founders of The Fayette Youth Protection Home in 1988. He was a member of Fayetteville First United Methodist Church. Read More»

Kathy Jann Herriman Baker, 57, of Peachtree City, Ga., died May 12, 2012 after a long battle with breast cancer.

She was born September 8, 1954 in Springdale, Ark., to Arlis and Madelyn (Cook) Herriman.

Mrs. Veronica Fontaine, of Peachtree City, Ga., passed away on May 13, 2012 at the age of 90.

Mrs. Fontaine was born and raised in Exchange, Pa., before enlisting in the Coast Guard during WWII. Following basic training she was assigned to a position in New Orleans, La. where she coordinated activities for servicemen before they were shipped out for duty assignments. Read More»

He is survived by his sons, Bryan Griffith of Sharpsburg; Brandon Griffith of Newnan; mother, Marlene Pollard Mobley of Palmetto; sister, Cindy Lawrence, Fayetteville; niece, Kelly Lawrence; and nephew, Alex Lawrence.
