Palm Sunday at COS will feature story of Jesus’s last week

Worship at Christ Our Shepherd Lutheran Church March 23-24 will be built around a dramatic re-telling of the events of Jesus’ last week.

“The Cry of the Whole Congregation” by Walter Wangerin employs a narrator; the voices of Judas, Peter, and Pilate; a dancer; a soloist; and all worshipers.

The congregation actively participates by reading appointed lines and singing together.

Each of the four services (Saturday at 7 p.m., Sunday at 8:30, 10:50 and 11 a.m.) has a different team of readers. Soloists are Karl Dietmeyer and Charlie Armour. Dancers are Ashley Hall and Ann Perez. Read More»

Greek Independence Day planned

St. Christopher Hellenic Orthodox Church invites the community to enjoy dancing, fun and fellowship at the Greek Independence Day Celebration on Sunday, March 24.

The Divine Liturgy will be celebrated at 9 a.m. and the celebration follows at the Event Center at 313 Dividend Drive in Peachtree City.

Shrimp and drinks are provided. Those attending are requested to bring a Lenten side dish to share.

All free will donations will benefit the Greece Relief Fund established by His Eminence, Metropolitan Alexios.

Providence to offer Beth Moore study

Beginning March 24 for 6 weeks, Providence United Methodist Church will present Beth Moore’s “scenic bus tour” of a journey of a lifetime through the study of Deuteronomy, “The Law of Love.”

All ladies are invited to participate starting Sunday, March 24, from 5-7 p.m. in room 107 at Providence UMC. To sign up, email Lynne Scott at ldscott@bellsouth.net. Jeff Anderson concert planned at Vineyard
The Senoia Vineyard is hosting a Jeff Anderson benefit concert on March 20 at 7 p.m. to help support a student mission trip to Costa Rica.  The concert is free but the church requests donations for the mission trip. The Chicago Eatery will prepare hot dogs from 5:30 - 6:30 p.m. to help support mission as well. The concert will be held at The Hill, 2450 Ga. Hwy. 85 in Senoia.

Are we the walking dead?

AMC cable network claims that “The Walking Dead” is the most watched drama in basic cable TV history. Filmed in nearby Senoia, each episode features sheriff Rick Grimes and his band of survivors seeking refuge in a dreary post-apocalyptic world. Weekly they fight zombies who roam the earth, yet they also face danger from the living. These survivors have become the walking dead.

Jesus presented some hard-hitting messages to the seven churches of The Revelation. In His letter to the church at Sardis, Jesus told these believers they were dead, a church of Zombies. Read More»

This Thursday, Friday and Saturday, March 14, 15 and 16, members of the community can step back in time to The Marketplace at Providence United Methodist Church. The Marketplace is an interactive experience where children can have fun, do crafts, and ride a real camel and have snacks all for free. Heritage Church ladies will host VOM’s Darcie Gill March 16

Darcie Gill, mission representative for Voice of the Martyrs, will speak at Heritage Baptist Church’s Ladies Fellowship in Fayetteville this Saturday, March 16, at 2 p.m.

The Voice of the Martyrs is a non-profit, inter-denominational Christian organization dedicated to assisting the persecuted church worldwide.

Through her work with Voice of the Martyrs, Gill has been serving the persecuted family for over 14 years.

She has traveled extensively, sometimes with her husband Tim, throughout the United States sharing the message of the persecuted church. Read More»

Hopewell sets March 23 for third ‘Stop Hunger’ packaging event
