Church of Nativity youth spaghetti dinner is tonight

Young people at the Episcopal Church of the Nativity will serve a spaghetti dinner Wednesday, Feb. 16, to raise funds for a youth mission trip in June.

The benefit event is billed as “Mama Rita’s Italian Kitchen” in honor of the Rev. Rita Henault, rector of the parish. Serving will begin at 5:30 p.m. in the common room of the educational building of the church, located at 130 Antioch Road, just off Georgia Route 92, south of downtown Fayetteville. Read More»

The United Methodist Men at Peachtree City United Methodist Church are now taking orders for their annual fertilizer and pine straw sales. Delivery will be Saturday, March 5 and Saturday, March 12.

For the last 32 years the Peachtree City United Methodist Men have been selling fertilizer, lime and pinestraw to help various charities and ministries. This year a complete army of men, more than 100, are ready for the door to door campaign. Chairman of the event is Butch Hill. Read More»

Children’s ministry at Christian City celebrates 46th anniversary

Valentine’s Day marked the 46th anniversary of the day Christian City opened the first cottage to eight little boys who were without a home.

“Founders thought that Valentine’s Day, which is a day set aside to celebrate love, would be the perfect time to launch their vision of providing love and a safe, warm home to children without a place to live,” a spokesperson said. Read More»

Healing conference set for March 4, 5 at Christ the King

A conference on healing will take place Friday, March 4, and Saturday, March 5 in the sanctuary of Christ the King Church, 4881 Ga. Hwy. 34 E, Sharpsburg. The cost is $10 per person or $15 per couple.

New exercise classes

Joy McGee (left) of Peachtree City and Christi Thompson of Newnan lead the new, free Saturday morning exercise classes, including light aerobics and step aerobics, in the fellowship hall at the Cathedral of Christ the King in Sharpsburg. Nearly 30 women have signed up for the classes which begin at 9 a.m. unless there is a conflict in the church calendar. Valentine social set for Friday

The United Methodist Men of Cornerstone United Methodist Church on Ga. Highway 154 at Thomas Crossroads in Newnan will host a “Heart & Soul” Valentine social Friday, Feb. 11, from 7:30 – 9:30 p.m. The event will feature the Live Big Band music of The Peachtree Jazz Edition with vocalist Toni Byrd.
