Local gathering for National Day of Prayer planned for tomorrow

There will be a community prayer gathering for the National Day of Prayer at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 5, at the Harvest Christian Community Center in Fayetteville.

The community is invited to join in praying for local and national leaders and local law enforcement officials.

A number of state and local leaders will be present.

The event is sponsored by Action of Faith Ministries and The Eleventh Hour Call Church.

Garage sale will benefit PTCUMC’s international missions

The International Mission Teams of Peachtree City United Methodist Church will hold a garage sale Saturday, May 7, from 8 a.m. – noon at Peachtree City United Methodist Church, 225 Robinson Rd. in Peachtree City.

All proceeds will be used by the Liberia, Guatemala, South Africa, and Mozambique Mission Teams for projects, supplies, and travel scholarships. Read More»

Second chance Thrift Shop plans spring sale and pancake breakfast

The Second Chance Thrift Shop in Brooks will have its annual sale in the gym at Brooks United Methodist Church on Friday and Saturday, May 13 and 14, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will be bargains on everything from clothes to furniture.

Proceeds benefit local, national and international outreach and mission programs.

A pancake breakfast is also scheduled on Saturday morning at the church from 8 – 11:30 a.m. There is no cost for the breakfast, but donations will be accepted. Read More»

SFM plans yard sale May 20, 21

Square Foot Ministry, a ministry of Fayetteville First United Methodist Church, is now accepting items for its annual yard sale planned for May 20 and 21.

Items that will be accepted include furniture, books, jewelry., small appliances, knick-knacks, toys, linens, sporting equipment and household goods in good, saleable condition.

Items not accepted include clothing, mattresses or box springs.

Christ Discipleship Ministries (CDM) will collaborate with Patterson Sports Authority, FHS Business Consulting, Path To Wellness Foundation, DEC (Driver Empowerment Center), and the QYRx Group to sponsor a summer camp called CDM/PSA Summer Youth Camp 2011, to be held at Christ Discipleship Ministries, 114 W. Campbellton Street, Fairburn.

The camp will be for boys and girls age PreK through 12th grade with such activities as sports, games, arts and crafts, field trips, character building, guest speakers, liberal arts and more. Read More»
