Fayette Family Church’s group ministries, Life Groups, are free and open to the community and will run weekly through May 7. Classes meet in homes and at the church, 1729 Ga. Hwy. 54 W., Fayetteville.

Edgefield to host youth revival Friday
The Edgefield Church Family invites the entire community to join them for its Zion Youth Church One Night Youth Revival on Friday, March 18, at 7 p.m. The theme scripture is Psalm 27.The chosen theme is “Zion, You Shall Do Great Things.” The speakers for the evening will be the youth pastors of Zion Youth Church, Minister Barney E. Yes, we do actually need a good Spring Training for our spiritual lives, just as the baseball players need a good Spring Training to learn the game all over again and get themselves ready for another long and successful season. All Saints, Word of God join for Ash Wednesday service

All Saints Anglican Church in Peachtree City and the recently formed Word of God Lutheran Church will conduct joint Ash Wednesday services March 9. Services will begin at noon and 7 p.m. in the All Saints multi-purpose room at 225 South Peachtree Parkway. The Rev. Michael Fry of All Saints and the Rev. Larry Lystig of Word of God will both officiate.

Ash Wednesday begins the season of Lent — the 40 weekdays before Easter. As Jesus fasted 40 days in the wilderness before embarking on his ministry, so Christians have long undertaken a 40-day preparation for the Easter celebration. Read More»

Lenten lunches begin today at Fayetteville First Methodist

The Lenten Lunch program held annually by Fayetteville First United Methodist Church will begin today, March 9, at noon with a light lunch and a brief program given by the Rev. Mark Westmoreland, senior minister at FFUMC. Cost of the lunch is $2.

Lunches will continue each Thursday during Lent, beginning March 17, with a different speaker each week and light lunch provided by the United Methodist Women’s circle groups.

Holy Trinity’s Dia de la Familia Health Fair set for March 26

Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Peachtree City will hold its ninth Annual “Dia de la Familia” Health Fair on Saturday, March 26, from 8 a.m. until noon.

Once again the fair will offer a variety of free health screenings for such things as breast cancer, diabetes, cholesterol, vision, hearing, dental and much more.

Representatives will be on hand from many local associations such as United Way, Head Start, Life Link and many others explaining to participants how they can benefit from the free services they offer. Read More»

PTC First Presbyterian preschool, kindergarten opens registration

Registration for the Peachtree City First Presbyterian Kindergarten and Preschool is now open to the general public on a first come first serve basis. Morning classes are offered for children ages 2-5.

The purpose of the school is to nourish spiritual, intellectual, emotional, social and physical growth in the students. Individual teaching is stressed so each child progress at his/her own speed.

Old-fashioned southern gospel sings continue at Grantville First Baptist

The old-fashioned gospel singings, formerly held at the Old Train Depot in Grantville, are now being held at the First Baptist Church in Grantville. Singings are hosted each forth Friday and Saturday night and are free.

The next singings will be on Friday, March 25 at 7 p.m. and will feature Voices of Grace from Columbus, Tonya Bean of Columbus, and One Accord, also from Columbus.

Saturday’s singing, March 26, will be at 7 p.m. and will feature The Paul Family from Buchanan, Through the Fire from Montgomery, Ala., and DeWayne Cook from Grantville. Read More»
