Fayette family takes ‘forgiving forward’ to Jerusalem

FFUMC now registering for fall preschool and MMO programs

Fayetteville First UMC (FFUMC) Preschool and Mother’s Morning Out (MMO) invites families to register children for the 2011 – 2012 school year. FFUMC’s Preschool and Mother’s Morning Out (MMO) provides a Christian environment of learning for children ages one through four years old.

FUMC’s S.A.G.E. heads for St. Simons Island in September

The S.A.G.E. group (Senior Adults Going Everywhere) at Fayetteville First United Methodist Church is planning a trip to St. Simons Island Sept. 26 through 29 for an “Autumn Adventure: Tracing footsteps From the Past.” The group will stay at Epworth by the Sea on St. Simons Island.

The cost is $349.40 per person and includes lodging, eight meals, entrance fees plus $50 bus fee. The deadline to register is Aug. 26 and the trip is contingent on a 15 person minimum. Read More»

New Hope, Dogwood Baptist WinShape C3 starts Monday

Registration is still open for Winshape Camps C3, which will be hosted by New Hope Baptist and Dogwood Church, July 25-29. The day camp is open to all students who have completed first through sixth grade.

Camp runs from 7:30 a.m.- 5 p.m. at New Hope North Campus, 551 New Hope Road, Fayetteville (770 461-4337). Cost is $179 for a full week of camp. A deposit of $50 is due upon registration.

C3 combines sports and recreation, arts, Bible study and worship.

GraceFlock Band from Christ Our Shepherd Lutheran Church in Peachtree City will play a concert on July 17 at All Saints Lutheran Church in Lilburn. The band will also play on Aug. 6 at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Alpharetta and on Aug. 12 at The Frederick W. Brown Amphitheater in Peachtree City. Flat Creek will host ‘Mighty Men of God’ conference August 5 & 6

Flat Creek Baptist Church will host a “Mighty Men of God” conference Friday and Saturday, Aug. 5 and 6, for all men of the community age 12 and older. The conference will feature Dr. Paul David Freed, minister, author, publisher and TV personality, who will speak on manhood, fatherhood, sonship, leadership and friendship principles, and workplace issues.

On Friday, doors open at 6:30 p.m. with the conference scheduled from 6:45 - 9:30 p.m.

Pregnancy Resource Center gets ‘Monday Mission’ help from youth

Several members of the youth group from Rolling Hills Baptist Church, along with parents, recently participated in a “Monday Mission” at the Pregnancy Resource Center in Fayetteville. The group sorted clothing, packaged diapers for distribution, cleaned toys, and miscellaneous other tasks that the staff at the PRC needed help with.

Monday Missions is an annual youth service program conducted by Rolling Hills that keeps their teens busy during summer vacation serving others.A Read More»

PTCUMC, Providence UMC will offer Financial Peace University

Providence United Methodist Church and Peachtree City United Methodist Church will offer Dave Ramsey’s “Financial Peace University,” a 13-week class, starting in August.

The class seeks to help individuals get out of debt and learn to manage finances. The average participant has eliminated $5,300 of debt and saved $2,300 in those 13 weeks.

The PTCUMC class meets Sundays beginning Aug. 14 from 4-6:30 p.m.

The Providence UMC class meets Wednesdays beginning Aug. 17, from 6:30– 8:30 p.m. The cost for class materials is $80, and free childcare is provided. Read More»
