Heritage Christian will offer car care services April 16

On April 16, Heritage Christian Church will once again host Car Care, a ministry providing free oil changes to single women, single mothers, widows and spouses of deployed soldiers.

Fayetteville First United Methodist Church will continue with its Lenten Lunch program each Wednesday at noon, featuring a light lunch and short message from a different speaker each week. Someone said, “It’s better to keep your mouth shut and appear dumb than it is to open and remove all doubt.” Or, as Forest Gump’s mother said, “Stupid is as stupid does.” In other words, mental aptitude is often demonstrated by the stupid things a person does.

Flat Rock plans revival, Men’s Day

Flat Rock African Methodist Episcopal (AME) Church will hold a revival Thursday, March 17, at 7 p.m. The revival will be followed by the church’s annual Men’s Day on Sunday, March 20.

The revivalist for the Pre-Men’s Day Revival is the Rev. David Morrow, pastor of Knight’s Monumental AME Church of Stockbridge and former pastor of Holly Grove AME Church in Peachtree City. Morrow will also bring his church’s men’s choir with him. Read More»

Service of Remembrance set for Thursday

The springtime Service of Remembrance sponsored by Healthfield Hospice will be held on March 17, at 6 p.m. in St. Paul Episcopal Church, 576 Roscoe Road (Highway 70) in Newnan.

The Church is located less than one mile from the Bypass West intersection with Highway 70.

Families whose loved ones have completed their earthly journey during the past year are invited to share in this special time of remembrance. The service includes music and a special time for each person who is being remembered.

Truett-McConnell choir to perform at Flat Creek

The college choir from Truett- McConnell College in Cleveland, Ga., will join members of the Flat Creek Baptist combined youth and adult choirs for a performance the weekend of March 19 and 20. Ben Caston will direct.

Dr. Emir Caner, president at Truett-McConnell, will be the guest speaker at the morning worship service on Sunday, March 20.

Flat Creek Baptist is on Flat Creek Trail between Ga. Highway 54 and Tyrone Road.

Holy Trinity’s Health Fair planned for March 26

Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Peachtree City will hold its ninth Annual “Dia de la Familia” Health Fair on Saturday, March 26, from 8 a.m. until noon.

Once again the fair will offer a variety of free health screenings for such things as breast cancer, diabetes, cholesterol, vision, hearing, dental and much more.
