Martin to speak at Lenten lunch
Lenten lunches will continue at Fayetteville First United Methodist Church each Thursday throughout Lent ( March 11, 18 and 25) and will end with a lunch on April 1. All lunches will begin at 11:30 a.m. The March 11 lunch will be hosted by the Hope circle. Dr. Bob Martin will be the speaker. FFUMC is at 175 E. Lanier Ave. (Ga. Yitta Schwartz, aged 93, died a couple weeks ago. She left 15 children, 200 grandchildren, and enough great-grandchildren to number over 2,000. She had actually given birth to 18 children, but two were killed in the Holocaust and one in an accident here in the US.

Mrs. Schwartz was of the ultra-orthodox Chasidic Jewish sect. One of the beliefs of the Jewish people is that your immortality lies with your heirs. Read More»

Heritage Christian Preschool plans Open House tomorrow

The Heritage Christian Church Weekday Preschool will host an open house this Thursday, March 4. Parents will have an opportunity to ask questions about the school’s educational program and to view the curriculum.

A new kindergarten class will be offered for the 2010-11 school year. Teachers will discuss class schedules, school programs and will field questions.

Times for the open house are 2 year olds (must be 2 by Sept. 1) at 10:30 a.m., 3 year olds (must be 3 by Sept 1) at 11 a.m., 4 year olds (must be 4 by Sept. 1) at 11:30 a.m., and kindergarten (must be 5 by Sept 1) at noon. Read More»

Dinner, Open House, mark 25 years for PTCUMC school

Peachtree City United Methodist Church invites the commiunity to celebrate the 25th anniversary of its preschool program with a dinner and open house on Tuesday, March 16.

Festivities will begin with a spaghetti dinner at 5:30 p.m. in the PTCUMC multipurpose room. Class photos from all 25 years will be shown during the dinner and current students will sing.

‘Our Lady of Guadalupe’ brings bilingual Mass to St. Mary’s

The first bilingual Mass, celebrating the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe, was held at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in December. Father Fernando Molina-Restrepo, pastor of St. Theresa’s Church in Douglasville, was principle celebrant, assisted by St. Mary Magdalene pastor, Father Dan Fleming. Hopewell will offer FPU March 11

Hopewell United Methodist Church in Tyrone will begin Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace University (FPU) 13-week class on Thursday, March 11, at 7 p.m.

More than one million families have attended FPU. On average, they pay off $5,300 in debt and save $2,700 in just 90 days.

The program is for everyone, regardless of age, regardless of income, and regardless of marital status. Read More»

Wisconsin choirs to perform at Faith Lutheran in Sharpsburg

The Wisconsin Lutheran Choir and Chamber Choir, from Wisconsin Lutheran College and under the direction of Dr. James Nowack, will perform a concert on Sunday, March 7 at 7 p.m. at Faith Lutheran Church in Sharpsburg. The concert is part of the choirs’ 2010 Spring Concert Tour.

The choir will present a diverse, mostly a capella program of sacred and secular choral works in original languages. Read More»
