Disaster cleanup help still needed

In response to the April storms, the North Georia United Methodist Conference Disaster Response Team has set up a call center to help match cleanup and repair needs with volunteer teams. The phone number for the Call Center is 678-533-1443. Email the call center at response@ngumc.org.

Watson will be guest speaker for Senoia’s Homecoming Sunday

The annual Homecoming service at Senoia United Methodist Church will be this Sunday, May 15, at 11 a.m. The traditional Homecoming dinner-on-the-grounds will follow the service.

“This year we are very pleased to have former pastor and our new district superintendent, the Rev. Thrift shop plans sale, breakfast

The Second Chance Thrift Shop will have its annual sale in the gym at Brooks United Methodist Church on Friday and Saturday, May 13 and 14, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Proceeds benefit local, national and international outreach and mission programs.

A pancake breakfast is also planned Saturday morning from 8 – 11:30 a.m. There is no cost for the breakfast, but donations will be accepted.

Brooks UMC is at the corner of Ga. Highway 85 Connector and Morgan Mill Road.

Hopewell to host chicken barbecue, yard sale, bake sale, car wash May 21

Tyrone’s Hopewell United Methodist Church will hold its annual Chick-N-Que on Saturday, May 21, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tickets are $7.50.

The meal cosists of a barbecued chicken half, coleslaw, baked beans, bread, and iced tea. Proceeds from the Chick-N-Que fund the many mission projects of the church.

In addition to the Chick-N-Que, there will also be a yard sale, and a bake sale, and the youth will sponsor a car wash from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Square Foot Ministry plans yard sale May 21

Square Foot Ministry (SFM), a ministry of Fayetteville First United Methodist Church (FFUMC) and local non-profit organization, is seeking donated items for its annual yard sale planned for Saturday, May 21. The yard sale will be in the parking lot and Family Life Center of FFUMC from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday only.

Local gathering for National Day of Prayer planned for tomorrow

There will be a community prayer gathering for the National Day of Prayer at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 5, at the Harvest Christian Community Center in Fayetteville.

The community is invited to join in praying for local and national leaders and local law enforcement officials.

A number of state and local leaders will be present.

The event is sponsored by Action of Faith Ministries and The Eleventh Hour Call Church.
