SFM plans yard sale May 20, 21

Square Foot Ministry, a ministry of Fayetteville First United Methodist Church, is now accepting items for its annual yard sale planned for May 20 and 21.

Items that will be accepted include furniture, books, jewelry., small appliances, knick-knacks, toys, linens, sporting equipment and household goods in good, saleable condition.

Items not accepted include clothing, mattresses or box springs.

Register Saturdays for CDM’s summer youth camp in Fairburn

Christ Discipleship Ministries (CDM) will collaborate with Patterson Sports Authority, FHS Business Consulting, Path To Wellness Foundation, DEC (Driver Empowerment Center), and the QYRx Group to sponsor a summer camp called CDM/PSA Summer Youth Camp 2011, to be held at Christ Discipleship Ministries, 114 W. Campbellton Street, Fairburn.

GriefShare starts May 5 at PTCUMC

Beginning May 5, Peachtree City United Methodist Church will offer GriefShare each Thursday night from 6:30 – 8 p.m.

GriefShare is a Christ-centered Biblically based support group for anyone who has lost a loved one.

It is open to anyone in the community and surrounding area who has lost a spouse, child, a parent, a sibling or a close friend.

GriefShare is led by facilitators who understand the grief process and want to help. All facilitators have experienced the loss of a loved one and can identify with the emotions that result from the grief process. Read More»

FFUMC to offer summer music camp

Fayetteville First United Methodist Church in downtown Fayetteville will offer a summer music camp for children in kindergarten through sixth grade July 11-15.

Children will learn about strings, wind instruments, singing, rhythm and more.

Classes will meet every day from 9 a.m. until noon. The cost is $60 for the week.

Detroit Tigers pitcher Justin Verlander, a right hander, stepped off the pitching rubber as if to attempt a pick-off throw to first, but instead at the last second changed his mind and threw sideways to the plate and right at the batter. Taylor, Epps ordination set for June 11 at Christ the King

Deacons Jason Epps of Senoia and James Taylor of Peachtree City will be ordained to the sacred order of Priests on Pentecost Eve, Saturday, June 11, at 5 p.m. at the Cathedral of Christ the King in Sharpsburg. The men will be ordained by The Most Rev’d David Epps, Bishop of the Diocese of the Mid-South. A reception will follow the ordination service.

GriefShare session starts May 3 at F’ville First Baptist Church

Fayetteville First Baptist Church will offer a new session of GriefShare, a free, 13-week Bible-based program for those who have lost a loved one, starting Tuesday, May 3.

The class will meet each Tuesday from 6:30-8 p.m. Each class begins with a video followed by group discussion.

The program is open to people of all ages in the community and surrounding areas, whether the loss is recent or in the past.

Sessions are led by Paul and Mary Ellen Ashworth, Jenny Muller and Gena Turner and meet in Room A-101 in the First Baptist Church Worship Center building at 205 Stonewall Ave. Read More»
