Chabad of PTC will host Chanukah party Dec. 25

Chabad of Peachtree City announces “Our Big, Fat, Chabad Chanukah Party” to be held on Dec. 25, at The Lifeboat Medical Associates Building, 1201 Georgian Park, Peachtree City.

The party will be from 2-4:30 p.m. Admission is $5 per person and includes hot latkes, jelly donuts and drinks.

The party will include games, face painting, arts and crafts, a Grand Dreidel spinning contest and the lighting of the Great Menorah at 4:30 p.m.

FFUMC’s concert, dinner, auction is this weekend

Members of Fayetteville First United Methodist Church will host a silent auction and dinner before the Candlelight Concert this Sunday, Dec. 18 at 5 p.m. This year marks the 12th performance of the Candlelight Concert featuring violinist Sonja Squires and pianist Rick Massengale.

Along with all of the great instrumentalists, the concert will feature vocalists Kristy Cline and Dr. Franklin Green.

Dinner reservations are required and may be made by calling the church office, 770-461-4313.

Dickens Village juggler

Heritage Christian Church held its Dickens Village last week. In addition to a live nativity scene and a concert inside the church, dozens of people dressed in Victorian era costumes and entertained the crowds with music, juggling and conversation — albeit one with British accents. Rolling Hills will host outdoor community Christmas service

Rolling Hills Baptist Church will celebrate Christmas with a special “Christmas by Candlelight” event on Saturday, Dec. 24, from 6 -6:30 p.m. at the Fayetteville Town Square.

The event will include singing Christmas carols at the Gazebo, reading the Christmas story, and singing Silent Night by candlelight. The event is open to the public. Read More»

All Saints announces Christmas events

All Saints Anglican Church will present Advent Lessons and Carols at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 18. On Dec. 24, Christmas Eve, there will be a 5 p.m. Family Service (nursery provided), a 10:30 p.m. service featuring “The Story Behind the Carols” and an 11 p.m. “Midnight” Candlelight Mass

On Dec. 25, there will be a 10:30 a.m. Holy Communion service.

All Saints meets at 225 South Peachtree Parkway in Peachtree City.

Several Christmas services planned at PTCUMC

Peachtree City United Methodist Church will host Christmas Eve services at 5, 7 and 9 p.m.

The 5 p.m. service will be a family worship service led by the Family Ministry team with a festive atmosphere. This is a child friendly service and will include the lighting of the candles. There will be childcare available for babies through PreK.

COS will hold Advent service tonight
Christ Our Shepherd Lutheran Church will offer its final mid-week Advent service  Dec. 14, from 7-7:30 p.m. “Taking the Story of Christmas Home” is the theme. According to associate pastor Miriam Beecher, “The worship service will have a multi-sensory creative touch.” Some of the traditions and practices to be explored are Christmas trees, wreaths, cards, lights and candy canes. The Shepherd’s Band and Logos Ringers will provide music. Christ Our Shepherd is on the corner of Ga. Highway 54 and Peachtree Parkway.

Flat Creek Baptist will host Sunday School training event

Flat Creek Baptist Church will host a Sunday School Training Event, “Light Unto My Path,” based on Psalms 119:105, Friday, Jan. 27, at the church.

Supper will be served at 6 p.m. followed by the training event from 7-10 p.m.

The cost is $5 each for Fairburn Association members and $15 each for non-Fairburn Association members.

There will be classes for leaders of all age groups (from preschool through adult) as well as pastors, Sunday School directors and more, led by acclaimed leaders from all over the state. Read More»

Providence will offer Clower classes in January

Ron Clower, author of “Jesus Christ: Centerpiece of God’s Universe,” wrote his book after years of leading studies on the Bible. He is currently leading a Wednesday night study at Providence United Methodist Church, using his book as a resource and will offer the 12-week study again beginning Jan. 11 at 6:30 p.m. Sign up for the study by emailing Leslie at llunsford@provumc.com.
