NHBC to host ‘Prepare-Enrich’ pre-marital/marital sessions February 17

National Heights Baptist church will host a four week pre-marital/marital course on relationships, communication, conflict-resolution, and more beginning Feb. 17. The cost is $35 per couple.

The workshop comes with workbook, online assessment surveys, relationship tips, and more.

Sessions will meet in the main office building at National Heights Baptist Church, 103 Old Norton Rd., Fayetteville.

Local pastor opens Senate session

Senator Valencia Seay (D-Riverdale) and Lt. Governor Casey Cagle welcomed Pastor Randy Wood of Liberty Baptist Church in Fayetteville to serve as the Chaplain of the Day on Monday, Jan. 28 in the Georgia State Senate.

“In their youth, my two children went to Liberty Baptist Church for Sunday School,” said Seay. “My children were always learning there, and what they learned there helped ground them in their faith. The State Senate was blessed by Pastor Wood’s message this morning.” Read More»

Parenteen seminar should give insights on raising teenagers

Trinity Fellowship Church in Sharpsburg will host a free Parenteen seminar led by Chap Clark Saturday, Feb. 9, from 1:30-5:30 p.m. on the campus of Trinity Fellowship just west of Peachtree City, 8814 Highway 54, Sharpsburg. Clark is a professor and author with over 30 years of experience of guiding teenagers and the adults who influence them.

Brooks UMC will offer classes in waltz, wedding dance

Beginning Saturday, Feb. 16 through March 9, from 7 until 8 p.m., Brooks UMC will offer classes in the waltz, taught at a beginner level. Then, from 8-8:30 p.m., there will be a bonus class in wedding dance, also at a beginner level.

People who do not want to make a financial commitment may drop in for a fee of $10 per person, per class. The class is $35 per person for a four week session.

This class will be dancing to the one-step which is a classic romantic dance and will cover all love songs that are not waltz tempo. Read More»

Several senior adult groups at Fayetteville First United Methodist Church meet throughout the year for fellowship, exercise, luncheons and day trips.

The S.A.G.E. group (senior adults going everywhere)enjoys monthly outings to various attractions throughout the state. Transportation is provided but reservations usually are required. Call 770-461-4313 for information.

Titus II is a luncheon group which meets the first Tuesday of each month for lunch and a brief program. Make reservations with Thomasina Miller, 770-462-9372, by noon Thursday prior to the meeting . Read More»
