Heritage Christian Adademy to offer new kindergarten class

New students can enroll at open house planned for March 3 at Heritage facility

The Heritage Christian Academy will add a kindergarten class in the fall for 2013/14 school year. Kindergarten hours will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day except on Fridays when classes dismiss at noon. Enrichment classes will be offered after school on Friday at an additional low cost fee. St. Gabriel’s Friday fish fry continues

St. Gabriel Catholic Church Council 11458 continues its Annual Lenten Fish Fry for the next four Fridays, March 1, 8, 15, and 22. The first plate will be served at 5:30 p.m. and will consist of tilapia, baked and fried options. All adult meals are $8 per plate. All child’s meals are $5 per plate All family meals are capped at $32 per family -— 2 adult and 4 child plates. Additional servings will be at the per plate price.

FFUMC senior group heads for World of Coke in Atlanta

Several senior adult groups at Fayetteville First United Methodist Church meet throughout the year for fellowship, exercise, luncheons and day trips.

Holy Trinity’s Dia de la Familia health fair set for March 16

On March 16, from 8 a.m. until noon, Holy Trinity Catholic Church will once again celebrate the annual “Dia de la Familia” Health Fair.

Medical personnel will provide breast cancer screening, testing for cholesterol and diabetes, HIV, and much more.

Also, representatives from different entities such as Head Start, United Way and many others will provide information on free services they offer.

Those who plan on having blood work are asked to come on a completely empty stomach so that the results may be completely accurate. Read More»

WLS Chorus to appear in concert at Coweta’s Faith Lutheran Church

The Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary Chorus of Mequon, Wis., will present a free sacred concert for the community on Saturday, March 2, at Faith Lutheran Church, located at 575 Fischer Rd, Sharpsburg. The 49-member chorus will present its concert at 7 p.m. All are invited to attend.

The Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary is a post-secondary school offering theological training that prepares men to enter the pastoral ministry of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod of churches within its confessional fellowship. Read More»

Southerland to preach at revival
McDonough Road Baptist Church will hold Spring Revival March 3-6 with Joel Southerland, director of evangelism and media strategist for the Georgia Baptist Convention. Chabad of Peachtree City announces Purim activities

This year, the Jewish holiday of Purim is from Saturday night, Feb. 23, to Sunday, Feb. 24. The community is invited to join Chabad of Peachtree City for several fun-filled festivities.

Purim is a Jewish holiday based on information in the Biblical book of Esther (Megillat Esther), and commemorates the deliverance of the Jewish people in the ancient Persian Empire from destruction in the wake of a plot by Haman, an arrogant, egotistical advisor to the king. Esther, a Jew and one of the king’s wives, told him of the plot. The king hanged Haman and the Jewish people were saved. Read More»

All Saints Anglican breaks ground for new church building

The congregation of All Saints Anglican Church of Peachtree City held a groundbreaking ceremony for their new church and fellowship hall last Sunday, Feb. 10, on their eight-acre campus at 149 Ebenezer Road between Fayetteville and Peachtree City.

David Wardell, All Saints Building Committee Chairman, welcomed all attending on behalf of the congregation.

Michael Murphy, senior warden, provided the history of All Saints, telling the story of the faithful people of All Saints’ desire to build a new house of worship, prayer, and service dedicated to the honor and glory of God. Read More»
