Registration still open for All Saints’ camp

Registration is still open for All Saints Anglican Church’s free Children’s Music Camp set for July 12-16. The theme is “A Week of Praise” with a focus on a variety of music, especially traditional hymns and praise songs. The camp will be held from 9 a.m.- noon. daily, is open all children ages 4-12, and will be held at the church at 225 South Peachtree Parkway.

As part of the potpourri of musical fun, “The Week of Praise” will feature professional guitar instructor Jeff Shephard who will teach many of the elements of music to the children. Read More»

Summit hosts Camp Re-Mix for kids raised in special homes

The Factor Grandparent Raising Grandchildren (GRG) committee at The Summit Church has brought key stakeholders together to provide a grief camp for children being raised in grandparent/relative care homes.

Camp Re-Mix, offered July 16-18, is a three-day, two-night weekend camp for children 7-14 years of age who are living in relative care placement. The Camp experience will include regular camp activities, swimming, hiking, and campfires.

Therapeutic activities include, art, skits, and small group discussion. Read More»

Catholics send 22 on Nicaraguan mission trip

While summer vacation usually means giving oneself a vacation, 22 members of the Catholic community in Fayetteville took part of their summer vacations to give to others in Nicaragua June 6 – 13.

The group, 17 associated with St. Gabriel Catholic Church and five associated with Our Lady of Mercy Catholic High School, took part in a missionary trip with Amigos for Christ, a Christian missionary organization, whose goal is to “serve the Lord by serving his poor,” said Kelly Fitzgerald, a full-time Amigos missionary. PTCUMC to offer handbell lessons

On four Tuesdays in July, Peachtree City United Methodist Church will offer a series of free handbell lessons for adults and high school/college students who are curious about handbells.

The one-hour lessons, from 7 – 8 p.m., will be given on July 5, 12, 19 and 26 and are open to the community.

Southern Country Gospel Sings for the month of June will be held in the Grantville Railroad Freight Depot in Grantville, located on Exit 35 on Interstate 85. For Friday June 25: Jackie Robinson, Ward Family and One Accord. For Saturday June 26: Wayne Faircloth from Columbus, Christiannaires from LaGrange, and Bobby Ellis Band from Columbus.
