St. Gabriel’s fish fry ends Friday

St. Gabriel Catholic Church in Fayetteville has been having a fish fry each Friday, scheduled through March 30, featuring baked or fried Tilapia.

The cost is $8 for adult plates and $5 for a child’s plate. Family meals are capped at $32 per family and consist of two adult and four children’s plates. Additional servings will be at the per plate price. The first plate will be served at 5:30 p.m. this Friday.

Two more Lenten lunches scheduled at F’ville First

Members of Fayetteville First United Methodist Church (FFUMC) invite the community to their Lenten Lunch series which began on Ash Wednesday. Lunches are served at noon each Thursday in the fellowship hall. A light lunch is served followed by an inspirational speaker. The lunch is hosted by each of FFUMC’s United Methodist Women’s Circle groups. The cost of the lunch is $2.

PTCUMC will host biblical meal

A biblical Meal will take place on Maundy Thursday, April 5, from 6-8:30 p.m. at Peachtree City United Methodist Church, 225 Robinson Rd. in Peachtree City. The meal will be a time of learning and worship for the celebration of Christ’s Last Supper.

A guest presenter from the Antiquity Center in LaGrange will lead with scriptural teachings on the Last Supper in the context of the Passover and first century middle-eastern culture. Read More»

Congregation B’nai Israel, a Reform Jewish synagogue in Fayetteville, will celebrate Passover with a community seder at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, April 7, at the synagogue’s sanctuary on Highway 54 East near Corinth Road.

The Celebration Choir and Orchestra of McDonough Road Baptist Church will present a musical/drama entitled “The Other Way” on Sunday, April 1, at 10:55 a.m. and 6 p.m.

The Episcopal Church of the Nativity in Fayetteville will hold special services every day during the coming week, marking the close of the season of Lent and the beginning of the season of Easter.

Tyrone First Christian announces activities through Holy Week

The First Christian Church of Tyrone has released a slate of upcoming events leading up through Holy Week.

This Saturday, March 31, the congregation will have a work day to prepare the grounds and building for the Holy Season. Coffee will be served starting at 8 a.m. At 5:30 p.m. there will be a Low Country Boil meal, followed by a showing of he movie “Courageous” at 7 p.m. Childcare is provided for children up through first grade age. Final Lenten service is tonight at 5

St. Paul Lutheran Church in Peachtree City will have its final Lenten sevice tonight, March 28, with a service at 5 p.m., dinner at 6 p.m. and a final service at 7 p.m.

Palm Sunday starts Holy Week activities with a traditional service at 8 a.m., Bible classes at 9:30, and a contemporary service at 10:45.

Maundy Thursday activities will begin at 7 p.m. on April 5.

Two services will be held on Good Friday: one at noon and a Good Friday Tenebrae service at 7 p.m.

F’ville First Methodist will offer fitness classes Starting April 9

As the weather gets nicer, it’s time to get out of the house and get moving with Fayetteville First United Methodist Church’s (FFUMC) fitness classes.

A new class has been added for April and, for the month of April, fitness classes will be offered at a discounted rate, only $10 per punch card ($1 per class). April classes begin Monday, April 9.

In April, instead of signing up for a particular class, participants will be asked to purchase a fitness punch card for $10 which will allow them to participate in 10 class sessions of any format. Read More»
