Four individuals previously confirmed at Church of the Holy Cross (CEC) in Fayetteville were received as new members on April 15. The Rev. Canon Paul Massey, founding vicar of the church, presented the new members to be received. Shown and received as new members are (L-R) Bill Rogers, Jeanette Kirsch, Bishop David Epps who participated in the ceremony, Joe Saccavino, and Toni Saccavino. According to denominational statistics, Holy Cross has doubled in attendance during the past two years. A church dinner followed the service. Read More»

Faith Lutheran’s summer soccer camp still taking registrations

Faith Lutheran Church in Sharpsburg will host a four-day summer soccer camp June 18 -21 which is for children rising to kindergarten through children children rising to sixth grade. The registration fee is $50.

“The camp is an opportunity to grow in both soccer skills, and faith in Jesus while sharing Christian fellowship, meeting new friends and having fun,” said Vicar Mark Reichert.

Experienced soccer players and coaches will teach a variety of soccer techniques to include dribbling, passing, shooting, heading and conditioning. Read More»

CDM will host seminar
Christ Discipleship Ministries (CDM) in Fairburn will host a seminar titled Prophet Chambers Training on Saturday, May 26,  from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The speaker will be Prophet Timothy Frazier. The training is for those who feel called to the office of the prophet and for those who want to understand the role of the prophet in the 21st century. Tyrone’s Hopewell UMC plans Chick N-Que, yard sale this Saturday

Hopewell United Methodist Church in Tyrone will hold its annual Chick-N-Que on Saturday, May 19, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Hopewell UMC Children and Youth Ministry will sponsor a yard sale during the Chick-N-Que. Spaces are available to the community for $40 each.

The barbecued chicken meal costs $7.50 per person and all proceeds go toward mission projects.

There will also be a bake sale, sponsored by the Recycled Kids.

FPC will send team to Fayette’s Relay for Life this weekend

Fayette Presbyterian Church’s team of members will participate in this year’s Relay for Life at Falcon Field in Peachtree City.

The event will begin at 5 p.m. Friday evening, May 18, and will continue through Saturday morning, May 19.

The Relay starts with a Survivors Lap at 7 p.m. This is an inspirational time when survivors are invited to circle the track together and help everyone celebrate the victories they have achieved over cancer. Read More»

Heritage will again host Winshape Camp for kids ‘of all backgrounds’

Registration is now open for Winshape Camps for Communities, which will be hosted by Heritage Christian Church, July 9-13. The day camp is open to all students who have completed first through sixth grade. Camp runs from 7:45 a.m.- 5 p.m. Cost is $184 for a full week of camp. A deposit of $50 is due upon registration. Scholarships are available.

Fayette Presbyterian’s VBS starts June 4

Fayette Presbyterian Church (FPC) will provide its annual VBS program with this year’s theme entitled, “Operation Overboard – Dare To Go Deep With God!”

The event will be held Monday through Friday, June 4 through 8 from 9 a.m. to noon at the church.

Daily VBS will consist of interactive bible stories, music, art, games and snacks and is open to rising K through fifth grade.

Heritage Christian’s VBS starts June 25

Heritage Christian Church in Fayetteville invites children to “Sky: Everything is Possible with God” Vacation Bible School, Monday, June 25-Friday, June 29 from 8:45 a.m. until 12:15 p.m. VBS is open to kids who have completed kindergarten through fifth grade.

VBS is free of charge until May 31. Beginning, June 1, VBS will be $10 per child. Registration forms are available online at www.heritagechristian.org, and at both buildings on campus.
