COS launches new worship emphasis this weekend

Christ Our Shepherd Lutheran Church in Peachtree City begins a new worship emphasis Jan.7-8, “Generation You/U.” Each week a different age group will be spotlighted; this weekend it will be “Bouncing Babies and Inquisitive Infants.”

PTC Christian offers family movies

Peachtree City Christian Church will offer two family movie showings. On Jan. 13, at 6:30 p.m., the church will will show the movie, “Courageous” (PG-13), for the cost of $1 per person.

There is also childcare available at the church (pizza, games and fun included) for a cost of $20 per family with three or more children; $15 per family with two children; and only $7 per family with one child.

All proceeds for the childcare goes to support Joshua’s Gift, a ministry to feed needy children in the area. Popcorn and drinks will be available for a nominal charge as well. Read More»

‘Come Together’ benefit concert planned for Jan. 15 at New Hope

Pastor Rhys Stenner and the church family of New Hope Baptist in Fayetteville will present the Third annual Come Together Benefit Concert for Wellspring Living featuring a list of renowned awarding winning gospel artists and the New Hope Baptist Church Choir and Orchestra. Divorce Care/Divorce Care for kids starts January 23 at PUMC

A new 13-week DivorceCare and DivorceCare for Kids (DC4K) session will begin Monday, Jan. 23, at Providence United Methodist Church, 592 Bernhard Road in Fayetteville.

Clower classes to be offered Jan. 11

Ron Clower, author of “Jesus Christ: Centerpiece of God’s Universe,” wrote his book after years of leading studies on that book of the Bible. He will offer a 12-week study at Providence United Methodist Church using his book as a resource beginning Jan. 11 at 6:30 p.m. Sign up for the study by emailing Leslie at llunsford@provumc.com.

Flat Creek Baptist to host Sunday School training event January 27

Each year Flat Creek Baptist Church and The Fairburn Baptist Association provide training for all Sunday School/Small Group workers. This year the theme will be “A Light Unto My Path,” taken from Psalms 119:105. The training event will be held Friday, Jan. 27, at the church.

Basics of Christian faith explored
The Rev. Mark Westmoreland, pastor of Fayetteville First United Methodist Church, will lead a study of the basics of the Christian faith beginning Wednesday, Jan. 4, and continuing for 16 weeks. The study is for New Christians, as well as seasoned believers, who have questions about the basics of the Christian faith. The class will end March 28. Cost of materials is $10.
