Final Lenten service is tonight at 5

St. Paul Lutheran Church in Peachtree City will have its final Lenten sevice tonight, March 28, with a service at 5 p.m., dinner at 6 p.m. and a final service at 7 p.m.

Palm Sunday starts Holy Week activities with a traditional service at 8 a.m., Bible classes at 9:30, and a contemporary service at 10:45.

Maundy Thursday activities will begin at 7 p.m. on April 5.

Two services will be held on Good Friday: one at noon and a Good Friday Tenebrae service at 7 p.m.

New members will be received on Palm Sunday at Christ the King

The Cathedral of Christ the King (Charismatic Episcopal Church) will hold Palm Sunday services on April 1, at 8:30 and 10 a.m. New members will be received at the 10 a.m. service. Bishop David Epps preaching.Holy Eucharist will be celebrated at both services

On Wednesday April 4, Stations of the Cross will be observed at 7:30 p.m.

F’ville First Methodist will offer fitness classes Starting April 9

As the weather gets nicer, it’s time to get out of the house and get moving with Fayetteville First United Methodist Church’s (FFUMC) fitness classes.

A new class has been added for April and, for the month of April, fitness classes will be offered at a discounted rate, only $10 per punch card ($1 per class). April classes begin Monday, April 9.

In April, instead of signing up for a particular class, participants will be asked to purchase a fitness punch card for $10 which will allow them to participate in 10 class sessions of any format. Read More»

Free weekly parenting classes begin at Brooks UMC April 11

Brooks UMC will host a weekly Parenting Teens seminar on Wednesday evenings at 6:30 p.m. beginning April 11 and continuing through May 9.

The church has partnered with the experienced psychotherapists of A New Start Counseling Center, Inc. to cover issues that are relevant for families in the community. Jews for Jesus program set for tonight
On Wednesday, March 28 at 7 p.m, Tyrone First Baptist Church will host Jews for Jesus’ presentation, “Christ in the Passover.” The student ministry and AWANA children will join the others in the sanctuary for a time of gathering to hear Scripture in a whole new light. Tyrone First Baptist is on Arrowwood Drive, adjacent to Sharon Memorial Gardens, in downtown Tyrone.

Christ Our Shepherd Lutheran presents weekly Lenten dramas

Each Wednesday through March 28, Christ Our Shepherd Lutheran Church in Peachtree City will stage a drama series, “The People vs. Judas Iscariot: The Punishment Phase.”

The dramas will be presented from 7-7:30 p.m. at the church.

The audience will serve as the jury as prosecution and defense attorneys present evidence based on the Bible and tradition.

Various witnesses will be “subpoenaed” to testify, including Peter, John and Mary Magdalene.

Actors appearing in all five episodes are Dave Byers, Clint Barbour, JoAnne Pritchett and Tom Rehak. Read More»

Tyrone Christian breaks new ground with contemporary service

The First Christian Church of Tyrone recently broke new ground by adding a more contemporary style of worship to its Sunday morning traditional format.

Pastor Dan Roberts said, “While we will always have a traditional Sunday service, we decided to add a contemporary style because we know that it appeals to many younger families.”
