CDM to offer ‘Soul Healing’ study in March

Christ Discipleship Ministries, 114 W. Campbellton Street, Fairburn, will conduct a 13-week study entitled “Soul Healing” which will meet every Wednesday evening from 7 - 8:15 p.m. beginning March 7.

The teacher, Pastor Carolyn Driver says,”Soul Healing is working out your own salvation by dealing with the issues of the mind, emotions and will. S.A.G.E. Methodist group heads for Cartersville

The S.A.G.E. group (senior adults going everywhere) at Fayetteville First United Methodist Church have scheduled a trip to the Tellus Science Museum in Cartertsville for their February outing. The trip is planned for Monday, Feb. 27, leaving the church at 9 a.m. and returning at 4 p.m.

The cost is $15 per person and includes museum, planetarium show and transportation. Lunch will be on your own at the museum cafe. Read More»

Ann Landers told about a man who, every time he got paid, would stick $50 in a shoe box in the back of his closet. He did this for years and accumulated quite a bit of cash.

When he got sick and realized that he was reaching the end, he had a request of his wife.

“I want you to promise me something.”

“What is it?”

“I want you to promise me that when I die, you will put that shoebox of cash in my casket. I want to see if I really can take it with me.”

The United Methodist Men at Peachtree City United Methodist Church are now taking orders for their 33rd Annual Fertilizer and Pine Straw Sale. Delivery will be Saturday, March 3 and Saturday, March 10.

Products are priced comparably to big box retailers in the area and the men deliver to local residents free of charge.

For the last 33 years the Peachtree City United Methodist Men have been selling high quality products at reasonable prices that work together to make lawns more beautiful. Read More»

National Heights Baptist’s parenting class starts Sunday

In conjunction with the United Methodist Children’s Home in Decatur, National Heights Baptist Church in Fayetteville will host a six-week parenting class on Sunday afternoons. Feb. 19-March 25 from 2:30-4:30 p.m., at the church, 103 Old Norton Rd (corner of Ga. Highway 54 and Old Norton Road).

The curriculum is designed for all types of families with children of all ages.

A one time $35 fee per family includes an “Active Parenting” parent guide and six weeks of classes. Read More»

Deliverance Seminar is Feb. 22-25

Coweta Community Church on Millard Farmer Industrial Blvd. (Ga. Highway 34 Bypass) will have a Deliverance Seminar Wednesday through Saturday, Feb. 22-25.

The Wednesday session will be held from 5:45 to 9:30 p.m.

Thursday through Saturday sessions will be from 8:30 a.m. until 5 p.m.

There is no charge but a love offering will be received. Lunch and snacks will be served daily. No childcare will be provided.

First time attendees will be required to attend all classes.

COS youth take time for winter retreat
Marta Diehm will lead a group of youth and sponsors from Christ Our Shepherd Lutheran Church on a Winter Break Retreat Feb. 17-19. Diehm is the church’s interim director of high school and family ministries. The retreat will take place at Holy Trinity House at Lutheranch, a new retreat center at Tallapoosa, Ga. The group will experience innovative Bible study and prayer, musical jam sessions, hikes, and interactive activities.
