SDA Church will host Family Fun Night
The Fayette Seventh Day Adventist Church family will host its Family Fun Night on Nov. 23,  from 7-11 p.m.  featuring Jamaican, Antiguan, Dominican, Trinidadian, Mexican, and Filipino cuisine, hay rides, ping pong, face painting, hula hoop, basketball, dominoes, cake walks and much more. Craig Ethridge, 45, of Haralson

Mr. Craig Ethridge, 45, of Haralson, died November 8, 2013 as the result of an automobile accident.

He was an outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish and was also an employee of DBS Manufacturing for over 22 years. He was a loving husband, father, son, and brother who will be greatly missed.

Landmark takes cross country title

The Landmark War Eagles came home from Carrollton Saturday afternoon with the Georgia High School Association’s Class A Private state championship in boys’ cross-country.
It was the boys’ eighth state championship in cross-country since 1995. The team has also finished as state runner-up five times. Read More»

Fayetteville First Baptist Church will have a special program to honor veterans and those currently serving in the U.S. military on Thursday, Nov. 7 at 7 p.m. The featured speaker will be retired Brig. Joseph Nilon “Jerry” Garvey, 65 of Ridley Park, died peacefully October 25, 2013 at Einstein Hospital, surrounded by his loved ones. A group of Fayette County students is hosting a free dinner for veterans and their families (up to five people per veteran) on Monday, Nov. 11 from 5:45 - 8 p.m. in the Rainbow Room at the New Hope Baptist North Campus.  The event will include dinner, veteran speakers, patriotic music, and a raffle. Gary Weishaupt, 59

Gary Weishaupt, 59, of Augusta, Ga., beloved and devoted companion of Ms. Becky Wallace, entered into rest suddenly on Wed., Oct. 23, 2013.

Born in Japan and a resident of Augusta, Ga. and Lexington, S.C., most of his life, he was a son of the late John A. and Janice F. Weishaupt.
