Mr. Harvey Jackson “Jack” Bramlett, Jr., 91, of Hampton, formerly of Atlanta, died on March 19, 2010.

He was a veteran of WWII, having proudly served his country in the Army Air Corps and was an amateur radio enthusiast for many years with the call sign of W4PIM. Mr. Bramlett was a “Railroad Man” whose career lasted over 30 years. Prior to his retirement, he served as the Station Master with the Atlanta Terminal Company, which later became Southern Railroad. Schubert piano trios and guitar duo perform at Spivey Hall this weekend

Franz Schubert’s Piano Trios and the Assad guitar duo will be featured this coming weekend at Clayton State University’s world-famous Spivey Hall.

Heritage opens registration for Winshape Camp

Registration is now open for Winshape C3 Camp, which will be hosted by Heritage Christian Church, July 12-16. The day camp is open to all students who have completed first through sixth grade. Camp runs from 7:30 a.m.- 5 p.m. Cost is $179 for a full week of camp. A deposit of $50 is due upon registration.

Gospel singing set for March 26, 27 in Grantville

Two free nights of “Old Fashioned Southern Gospel Singing” will be featured at the Old Train Depot in downtown Grantville Friday and Saturday, March 26 and 27, beginning at 7 p.m.

Featured groups for Friday’s performance will be Kingdom Express, Mona Gayle Presly, Amazing Grace and One Accord, all from Columbus.

Saturday’s performance will feature the Cleghorns from Warner Robins and the Hall Sisters from Soperton.

All attending are asked to bring a non-perishable food item for the local food bank and an unwrapped toy for the 2010 Toys for Tots program. Read More»
