Outdoor burning OK, but caution urged

Residents in Peachtree City and Tyrone must acquire a burn permit before they are allowed to conduct any outdoor burning, even though the summertime burning ban has been lifted.

In Peachtree City, residents can go online to fill out and print a burn permit, which will be available as long as the weather conditions are ok for burning, said Fire Marshal David Williamson. Those without a computer may visit station 82 at 101 north Peachtree Parkway across from the Peachtree Crossing shopping center to fill out a permit. Read More»

PTC company to show off solar power system

A Peachtree City company’s new solar power generating system will be on display Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., and the public is invited to drop by and learn more about solar power.

The event will be hosted at ALTA Refrigeration located at 403 Dividend Drive in the city’s industrial park. The open house is part of the national Solar Tour campaign in which solar sites all over the country will be open for the public to help spread the word about the benefits of solar power. Read More»

Fayetteville Main Street is once again excited to give local workers, students and residents an excuse to take an extended lunch break Friday, Oct. 8 with the final Lunch on the Lawn event this year.
