FFUMC offering summer activities for toddlers 2-4

There’s still time to register your child for FFUMC’s summer program open to ages two through four. Summer Fun Days meet during June and July on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 9 a.m. - noon. The cost is $15 per day, per child. Spaces are awarded on a first-come, first-serve basis. Below are the themes for each day:

June 7 and 8 - Safari Adventure; June 14 and 15 - Beach Party; June 21 and 22 - Let’s Cook.

PandaMania VBS set at Hopewell

Hopewell United Methodist Church in Tyrone invites all children ages preschool gthrough fifth grade to participate in PandaMania VBS 2011 which will be held at the church June 27-30, from 9 a.m. - noon.

PandaMania is filled with Bible-learning experiences that the children will see, hear, touch, and even taste. Bible Point crafts, team-building games, Bible songs, and treats are just a few of the PandaMania activities that are included.

McDonough Rd. Baptist invites kids to ‘Big Apple Adventure’

The McDonough Road Baptist Church in Fayetteville invites children and students to join them for Vacation Bible School Monday-Friday, June 6-10, from 9 a.m. – noon.

This year’s theme is “Big Apple Adventure: Where Faith and Life Connect.” Set in New York City, the adventure will help Bible schoolers discover a variety of enriching spiritual truths and experience fun activities, including crafts, music, and missions.

Try ‘Zumba’ classes at FFUMC

Fayetteville First United Methodist Church will add a new exercise class to its recreation program this summer — Zumba.

Zumba combines Latin and International music with a fun and effective workout system.

Two 5-week sessions will be offered this summer. The first will meet on Wednesday mornings from 9:15-10:15 a.m. beginning June 8. There will be no classes June 15, due to Annual Conference or June 29, due to Vacation Bible School.

Heritage plans VBS for June 27

Heritage Christian Church in Fayetteville is inviting kids to get cookin’ at its Shake It Up Café Vacation Bible School, Monday, June 27-Friday, July 1 from 8:45 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. VBS is open to kids who have completed kindergarten through sixth grade.

At the Shake It Up Café VBS, kids will become chefs in training. The day will begin with a high energy opening in the worship center followed by the Bible Bistro, with interactive Bible lessons. Read More»

Allen Chadwick of Farmington, Conn. and Lori Chadwick of Burlington, Conn., announce the engagement of their daughter, Tracey Elizabeth, to Justin Charles Lake, son of Larry and Linda Lake of Fayetteville.

The bride-elect is a graduate of Keene State College in Keene, N.H. with a B.A. in communication and is currently attending the Aveda Institute in Atlanta.

The groom-elect is a graduate of The Art Institute of Atlanta with a B.A. in fine arts and graphic design and is part owner of Lake Roofing Systems.

Ken and Sharon Feldhaus of Peachtree City celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary May 6, 2011.

Married in St. Louis, Mo. on May 6, 1961, they started a family of three children, later moving to Georgia in 1973. They currently enjoy retirement as Ken is a former national account executive with ABF Freight Systems.
