Mindy Lynne Turner and Adam Preston Beckett were married on Sunday, Oct. 10, 2010, at their lake home on Pine Lake in West Point. The Rev. Paul Fredette of Boston, Mass., uncle of the groom, performed the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Kenneth G. and Lynda Turner of Peachtree City. She is the granddaughter of John D. English and the late Jean Y. English of Peachtree City and Donna D. Turner and the late Kenneth G. Turner, Sr. of Sharpsburg. Read More»

Children’s Chair-ity event helps kids who call The Children’s Village ‘Home’ have happier holidays

Community leaders are joining together to support Christian City’s ministry to abandoned and abused children this Christmas by hosting the 4th Annual Children’s “Chair-ity” fundraiser. This unique and elegant event will be held at the The Dolce Hotel and Resort in Peachtree City at 201 Aberdeen Parkway. All proceeds will help the children who live in the cottages at Christian City to have a wonderful holiday season and will help buffer the many other operational costs The Children’s Village faces this winter. County gets in holiday spirit with events this weekend

The Christmas trees are up in the towns and cities of Fayette County and they will each be lit at fun-filled events this weekend.
The town of Tyrone has been busy with plans for their annual Christmas Tree Lighting Celebration. The celebration will include local schools groups such as Tyrone Tempos, Burch Elementary and the Flat Rock Middle School Chorus and Band to perform festive Christmas music to get you in the holiday spirit. Christmas Story Reading and Open House this weekend at Holliday-Dorsey-Fife museum

On Sat Dec. 4, the Holliday-Dorsey-Fife Museum hosts their annual open house (free admission) and will host a special Christmas Story Reading at 11 a.m. This will be a selected story from local author Robert Burch and will last about 15 - 20 minutes.

Throughout that day, visitors can enjoy the Victorian Christmas theme of the house festooned in holiday décor that was typical from 1860 to 1890. The indoor tree will be decorated with hand made ornaments.

A small exhibit of vintage toys is featured and holiday greenery throughout the house all creates a festive experience. Read More»
