Lenten lunches continue at First Methodist

Lenten lunches will continue at Fayetteville First United Methodist Church each Thursday throughout Lent (March 18 and 25) and will end with a lunch on April 1. All lunches will begin at 11:30 a.m.

The March 18 lunch will be hosted by the Mary Martha and Marie Lamb circles. The Rev. Kristen Heiden will be the speaker.

FFUMC is at 175 E. Lanier Ave. (Ga. Highway 54) in downtown Fayetteville.

‘Prisoner of Passion’ set for March 21

The power of the Resurrection will take on a new light as London native David Payne portrays the apostle Paul in a “Prisoner of Passion” at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, March 21, at Peachtree City First Presbyterian Church .

As told in New testament Scripture, Paul (David Payne) is under house arrest in Rome and faces almost certain death. Paul interacts with a servant girl and tells her about God’s love.

Paul cites many letters he wrote to the early churches.

‘Journey to the tomb’ Easter experience set at P’tree City UMC

On Saturday, March 27, Peachtree City United Methodist Church invites all families in the community to take a “Journey to the Tomb,” an event depicting the final days in the life of Jesus.

Set outside in a wooded area behind the church, the journey includes six interactive stations that bring to life the actions of Jesus on Palm Sunday, in the Garden of Gethsemane, during the Last Supper, his crucifixion and culminating with his resurrection. Read More»

Lily weighed 7 lbs., 8 oz., and was 19.5 inches long. Grandparents are Bob and Lil Jones of Peachtree City and Ray Helton of Peachtree City and Bonnie Helton of Peachtree City. Brent and Tiffany(Naler) Kostuch of Senoia announce the birth of their son, Henry Alan Kostuch, at 3:31 p.m. on Feb. 15, 2010, at Piedmont-Fayette Hospital in Fayetteville. Henry weighed 4 lbs., 12 oz., and was 18 inches long. Grandparents are Norman and Helen Naler of Brooks and Ray and Darlene Kostuch of Fayetteville.

Raise in the works for PTC Mayor Haddix? Vote may be 3-to-2

As the Peachtree City Council bandied about budget cuts to the tune of hundreds of thousands of dollars this weekend, Councilmen Doug Sturbaum and Eric Imker said they supported raising the pay of Mayor Don Haddix, who is currently compensated at $9,000 a year [corrected amount].

Council members Vanessa Fleisch and Kim Learnard indicated they would not support the proposal, and Haddix said he would “go along” with whatever Imker and Sturbaum decided. Read More»
