Army Spec. McDonald returns from Afghan deployment

Army Spec. Jonathan M. McDonald has returned to Fort Richardson, Anchorage, Alaska after being deployed to Afghanistan for one year.

The soldier is one of 3,500 members of the 4th Airborne Brigade Combat Team (Airborne), 25th Infantry Division stationed at Fort Richardson. Airborne combat team members included soldiers assigned to one of six battalions and regiments of the 25th Infantry Division. Read More»

Now that spring has sprung, motorcycle enthusiasts have another good reason to hit the road: a March 27 fundraiser to benefit the Peachtree City Community Emergency Response Team.

PTC firms up parking ordinance

Peachtree City has shored up its parking ordinance to require residents to use a specific parking surface for all parking on private property.

PTC may take crack at 'walking' signs

So-called “walking” signs in Peachtree City may be facing extinction.

While a bid to strictly regulate them fell flat last year, Councilwoman Kim Learnard said last week that she is interested in banning them altogether.

Learnard said while she supports local businesses, the city needs to address “guerilla suits standing near the intersection and waving.”

“I think they are not in keeping with the dignity and intent of our sign ordinances,” Learnard said during the annual City Council retreat at City Hall last weekend. Read More»

Not even rainy and cool weather could dampen the spirit of the annual Cookout for the Troops hosted by the Fayette County Public School System’s Transportation Department.
