Amie Plott engaged to Wickus Kok

Pastor Greg and and Mrs Evie Plott of Peachtree City announce the engagement of their daughter, Amie Plott, to Wickus Kok, son of Mr. Andre’ and Mrs. Amor Kok of Peachtree City.

An African Safari wedding is planned for Friday, July, 6, 2012 at JayDee Game Lodge, Mapumalanga, South Africa.

Following a honeymoon in South Africa, the couple will reside in Peachtree City.

Islamic Community Center hosts Ramdan Interfaith Dinner

The Islamic Community Center of Atlanta (ICCA) will host an open invitation, free of cost, Ramadan Interfaith Dinner to be held Sunday, August 14 from 7:30 -10 p.m. Muslims world-wide are currently observing the month of Ramadan, fasting from dawn to sunset. The local Islamic center in Fayetteville is extending an invitation to all Fayette county residents to come break the fast (for dinner) with their Muslim neighbors. Mr. William Henry “Stonie” Stonier, III, 51, of Peachtree City

Mr. William Henry “Stonie” Stonier, III of Peachtree City, GA, passed away on August 4, 2011 at the age of 51.

Mr. Stonier was a proud member of the United States Marine Corps, and later in the Colorado National Guard serving in Operation Desert Storm with 12 years of service. He was a loving husband, father and son who was dedicated to his family and believed in living life to the fullest.

Blanche Kelley Stanton, 85, of Peachtree City

Blanche Kelley Stanton, age 85, passed away on July 20, 2011 in her home in Peachtree City, Georgia.

Mrs. Stanton was the beloved daughter of Carrie Waters Kelley and Charlie Hoke Kelley. She was born in Pickens County, South Carolina on September 18, 1925.

Mrs. Stanton was an excellent student and served as a member of the National Beta Club in High School. After her high school graduation, she attended Michigan State University where she studied Geography and Home Economics. Read More»

Brunson W. “Bunny” Bolin, 87, husband of Hazel Stroud Bolin of Tyrone, Ga., passed away on Aug. 3, 2011 at his residence.

Mr. Bolin was born in Greenville, S.C., on Feb. 15, 1924.

The relatives and friends of Brunson “Bunny” Bolin are invited to attend his committal service on Monday, Aug. 8, 2011 at 2:30 p.m. at the VA Georgia National Cemetery, 1080 Veterans Cemetery Road, Canton, Georgia.

PTC man charged with child molestation

A Peachtree City man was arrested Aug. 5 on charges of child molestation and sexual battery. The man is being held without bond and is potentially subject to deportation.

Alexander DeLeon-Escobar, 22, was arrested Aug. 5 at the conclusion of an investigation into allegations of child molestation, according to Peachtree City police spokeswoman Rosanna Dove.

“The investigation revealed that during the past two years, DeLeon-Escobar was residing with a family in Peachtree City and committed the offenses of child molestation and sexual battery,” Dove said.  Read More»

PTC resident on 'The Price is Right' Tuesday

Peachtree City resident Manuel Munoz will be on “The Price is Right” Tuesday, August 9 at 11 a.m. on CBS. Representatives for the show wouldn’t say how Munoz fared, but promised that “nobody leaves “The Price is Right” without a great prize and a really fun chat with host Drew Carey.
