Fayette Master Gardeners hold plant sale Saturday

The Fayette Master Gardener Association will host its 2nd Annual Plant Sale on Saturday, May 1. The event will be held from 8 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the Fayette County Administration Complex parking lot, 140 Stonewall Ave. in Fayetteville . Hundreds of plants including annuals, perennials, herbs, vegetable seedlings, shrubs, trees and house plants will be available for sale at bargain prices. Free plant workshops will be held throughout the day, and attendees can get their gardening questions answered at the “Ask the Master Gardener” Booth at the Gazebo. Read More»

School system seeks stakeholder input

Stakeholders can help the Fayette County Public School System improve its educational program by providing input through an online survey. School system employees, parents and community members are invited to participate.

The online survey will be available through May 14 on the school system’s website, www.fcboe.org.

Input from stakeholders is extremely valuable as the school system continues to strive for excellence. Survey results will help the school system determine where improvements need to be made.

Company makes pitch for senior apartments in Kedron area

A company wanting to build 110 age-restricted senior apartments off Newgate Road in north Peachtree City made its case before the city planning commission Monday night.

Carl Edward DeLaney, 53, of Peachtree City, GA died April 25, 2010.

Mr. DeLaney was the owner/operator of a “Sir Speedy” Print Shop in Atlanta for over 10 years. He was most recently employed with Home Depot in Peachtree City. Jo Anne Holt of Peachtree City died April 25, 2010.

Jo was born in Richfield, Kansas October 15, 1942, the third of four children of Ray and Frances Boekhaus.
