Mr. Alvin Mayfield, 98, of Tyrone, Ga. passed away Sept. 5, 2011. He was a lifelong member of Hopewell United Methodist Church, a retired civil servant at Fort Gillem and was a faithful and long time employee of Parrott Funeral Home and Herschel McDaniel Funeral Home.

Tyrone Founders Day Festival starts Friday

Tyrone will have their annual Founders Day Festival, Sept. 16-18 at Handley Park in Tyrone.
