Jim Qualls was recognized recently as the 2009 Top Producing Agent for Coldwell Banker Bullard Realty’s Peachtree City/Fayette County office. Stephan Curcio was the office’s No. 2 producer for the year, while Donna Lasseter was No. 3.

The recognition came at the Coldwell Banker Bullard Realty organization’s annual awards event.

National Night Out tonight in Fayetteville, PTC

The community is invited to participate Tuesday in celebrating National Night Out with multiple law enforcement agencies at two different locations tonight. One event will be in front of the Fayetteville Target from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Fayette Pavilion shopping center. The other will be in front of Peachtree City's Target store from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Kedron Village shopping center.

PTC to decide on millage rate increase

Council now split between .5 or 1.25 mill hike on property taxes

Thursday night at 6:45 p.m., the Peachtree City Council is slated to host a public hearing on increasing the millage rate by as much as 1.25 mills.

But it is not yet clear if there are three votes among the five council members to enact that increase, or a lower one of .5 mills that has also been discussed. So far, council has been at an impasse on the discussion.

Councilwomen Kim Learnard and Vanessa Fleisch have supported the 1.25 mill increase which would result in a $108 a year increase on a home valued at $272,000. Read More»

PTC hosting anti-crime event Tuesday

The Peachtree City Police Department is hosting a National Night Out event at the Kedron Village Target parking lot Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m.

The event will feature plenty of sights to fascinate children, with fire ladder trucks, helicopters, police vehicles and other public safety equipment on display. There will also be a scavenger hunt for children with prizes that will be claimed at businesses in the Kedron Village Shopping Center.

The event is a nationwide program to heighten crime prevention and awareness and also promote neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships. Read More»
