Mr. Stanley W. Feaster Sr., 58, of Peachtree City, GA died January 27, 2011.

Stanley is preceded in death by his father Samuel W. Feaster, Sr. and sister Cidney O. Terry.

He is survived by his wife Cathy Feaster of Peachtree City; children, Stephanie Thornton and her husband Garrett of Lizella, GA and Stanley W. PTC making progress on Hwy. 74S warning light at Baseball-Soccer Complex

Peachtree City officials are continuing to work on plans to install a flashing yellow light to caution motorists approaching the city’s Baseball and Soccer Complex on Ga. Highway 74 south.

The Georgia Department of Transportation, at the behest of City Council and a number of letters from residents, recently relented and said it would approve the light. Read More»

Johnson earns his Eagle rank

Seth Johnson, 17, of Peachtree City, advanced to the rank of Eagle Scout in a court of honor ceremony Jan. 18 at Christ Our Shepherd Lutheran. The award was presented by Phil Carson, Scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop 181, sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Peachtree City.

Seth began his Scouting adventures as a Bear Scout with Pack 409 at Braelinn Elementary. He moved through the ranks of Webelos I and II, where he earned the God and Family Award and the Arrow of Light. Read More»

Mystery smoke fills some PTC neighborhoods Sunday night

Residents in Peachtree City neighborhoods north of Ga. Highway 54 and on the east and west sides of Flat Creek Road and around Northlake Drive got a smoky surprise Sunday night. But units from the Peachtree City Fire Dept. and police officers cruising the streets could not find the source of the smoke.

The haze and smoke began well before 8 p.m. and by that time fire units were driving area neighborhoods trying to locate the source. That search as of 9 p.m. came up empty. Read More»

PTC girl cleared of gang charges forced to change schools

Eight female students from Booth Middle School and one from McIntosh High School in Peachtree City were arrested in December on gang-related charges. One of those girls, Gabby Santamorena, was later cleared of the charges, yet the 13 year-old is not being allowed to attend her school and has been transferred to another middle school by the Fayette County School System. PTC terminates firefighter who reported for work drunk

Peachtree City firefighter/EMT Kevin Bernard McMullen had his employment with the city terminated Jan. 13 after reportedly showing up at work while under the influence of alcohol on Jan. 11. McMullen did not exercise his ability to appeal the Jan. 13 decision.

McMullen was hired while his father, Bernard McMullen, was city manager. The elder McMullen left the city’s employ last month.

McMullen was charged with DUI alcohol by Peachtree City Police on the morning of Jan. 11. Read More»
