Peachtree City resident Griffin Tillman recently won highest honors in this year’s WordMasters Challenge – a national language arts competition entered by approximately 220,000 students annually, which consists of three separate meets held at intervals during the school year. Cart path bridge over Flat Creek in south PTC opens

A new cart path bridge connecting homes on the southside to the city’s industrial park was completed this week.

PTC to meet on leash law, cell tower locations

Voice control may be on the way out

The potential elimination of the “voice control” option for pets will be discussed by the Peachtree City Council at a workshop meeting Monday, Apr. 12 at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall.

At the same meeting, council is expected to further discuss potential locations for future cell phone towers, as most of the few sites which meet zoning regulations are either owned by the city or the Fayette County Board of Education. Read More»

PTC adding historical timeline to memorial project

Peachtree City’s effort to honor founding fathers Floy Farr and Joel Cowan is expanding.

The project, funded entirely by donations, is nearing its initial $25,000 goal. But another $35,000 will be needed to accommodate the addition of a “pre-history founder’s corner” and a timeline of city milestones placed around the plaza to mark notable firsts, community events, mayoral terms and other achievements. Easter egg hunt in Peachtree City, Apr. 3

The Peachtree City Optimist Club along with the Peachtree City Fire Department and volunteer firefighters are having their annual Easter Egg Hunt, Apr. 3 at Shakerag Knoll across from the Frederick Brown Jr. Amphitheater. Registration and games start at 9:30 a.m. and the hunt starts at 10:30 a.m. for ages 1 to 11. There will be fire trucks, games, candy, moonwalk, face painting and the Easter Bunny.
