'Joyful Noise' filming at 'The Fred,' seeking extras

“Joyful Noise,” the latest film from the producers of “The Blind Side,” is offering free tickets to a gospel choir concert scene starring Queen Latifah, Dolly Parton, featuring a performance by superstar Kirk Franklin and appearances other film, television and Broadway stars.

The event will take place Monday, Mar. 14 at The Frederick Brown Jr. Amphitheater. Extras are asked to arrive at 7 a.m. and be available for six to eight hours. Read More»

There will be a Sock Hop, featuring the 50's band "The Boomerangs" on Friday, Mar. 11 from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. in the upper level cafeteria at St. Paul Lutheran Church. Fireball Run coming to Peachtree City this fall; film crews to record competition for movie

In late September, Peachtree City will host a competition among auto enthusiasts called the Fireball Run Adventurally.

This year’s Fireball Run will take nearly 50 teams over 2,500 miles in eight days. Along the way, teams will solve clues and compete in challenges in an attempt to earn points.
