Maxwell mocks goats, but what has he done for environment?

It was awful to see the name calling in Commissioner Eric Maxwell’s letter. He referred to Steve Brown and Harold Bost as “despised and disgraced” but he failed to discuss any of the relevant issues most of us are concerned about. Since Mr. Clell Lambert of Peninsula Drive has commented on the Peachtree City proposed ordinance regarding vacant homes, I would like to make a statement to say what happens when you live next to a vacant home for 15 years.

PTC planners want it in writing before vote

UPDATED print version (Tuesday, May 25, 2010) — With loose ends left to be examined, the Peachtree City Planning Commission Monday night postponed a vote on a rezoning proposal to build 100 senior apartments off Newgate Road in Kedron Village.

The proposal has been recommended for approval by Peachtree City interim Community Development Director David Rast, but commissioners wanted to see their concerns addressed in a proposed development agreement that has yet to be put in writing. Read More»

Booth clinches top four finish at National Science Competition

J.C. Booth Middle’s Science Olympiad team finished fourth in the nation at the National Science Olympiad competition held this past Saturday at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Nationally revered as a tough competitor, the team has placed in the top 6 at the national competition for 12 years and has five first place victories to its name. Sixty 15-member teams from schools across the nation competed in the 26th annual event. Will offer group smoking of tobacco from water pipes

Peachtree City is about to get a rather unique establishment offering Middle Eastern culture in the form of a “hookah bar” and Mediterranean restaurant.

The establishment will sell tobacco that will be smoked in special devices called hookahs in which the tobacco is heated in a device that mixes the tobacco into the steam released by the device. They are designed to be used by several people at the same time. Read More»
