Providence to host faith workshop

Providence UMC will host a “Share Your Faith” workshop from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. on April 13. All teens through adults are invited to attend.

The $30 cost of the workshop covers materials, coffee breaks and lunch. To sign up for the workshop, go to www.syfonline.org.

Freedom to Live plans two events

Freedom to Live Ministries will host two free ladies’ events.

A Women Pastors and Pastors’ Wives Fellowship will be held Friday, April 12, at 7 p.m.

A Ladies One Night Encounter, “One Night With the King,” will be held Friday, June 6, at 7 p.m.

The flag retirement box outside the ”Log Cabin” in Fayetteville had been the collection point for old and worn out American flags for 10 years, but was looking a little old and worn out itself. Willie Dulaney and Joe Bowler, two Legionnaires from Fayette County Post 105 of The American Legion, gave it the long overdue makeover it deserved. Waterfall welcomed as gateway to Fayetteville

The man who made an advertising icon out of cows urging everyone to “eat mor chikin” has now built a waterfall beside a major Fayette highway. And as of March 14, Fayette’s new Waterfall has officially started flowing.

Fayette Library hosts emerging writers showcase

A panel of six local authors in the early stages of their writing careers will participate in this year’s Emerging Writers Showcase at the Fayette County Public Library on Saturday, March 23 at 1 p.m. Each writer will give a short presentation, answer questions from the audience, and sell and sign books. Crystal is a 2009 graduate of Whitewater High School, and will graduate from Georgia State University's Robinson College of Business with a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting in the Spring of 2014.

Mark Edwin Rogers, 53, of Fayetteville

Mark "Marc" Edwin Rogers, 53, of Fayetteville, passed away March 14, 2013.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Greg Rogers.

He is survived by his wife Gail E. Rogers of Fayetteville; son Walker D. Rogers of Columbus; daughter Kara M. Rogers of Fayetteville; sister Pamela Aguiniga of Columbia, Maryland; brother Jay Shaefudin of Maryland; numerous nieces & Nephews.
