Army Spec. McDonald returns from Afghan deployment

Army Spec. Jonathan M. McDonald has returned to Fort Richardson, Anchorage, Alaska after being deployed to Afghanistan for one year.

The soldier is one of 3,500 members of the 4th Airborne Brigade Combat Team (Airborne), 25th Infantry Division stationed at Fort Richardson. Airborne combat team members included soldiers assigned to one of six battalions and regiments of the 25th Infantry Division. Read More»

Providence’s ‘Marketplace’ biblical village starts tonight

UPDATE: Due to bad weather, The Marketplace is cancelled for Wednesday, March 17, only. The event will continue as planned March 18-20.

The community is invited to Providence United Methodist Church for the “Marketplace” from 6-9 p.m. starting tonight, March 17, and running through Saturday, March 20. Lenten lunches continue at First Methodist

Lenten lunches will continue at Fayetteville First United Methodist Church each Thursday throughout Lent (March 18 and 25) and will end with a lunch on April 1. All lunches will begin at 11:30 a.m.

The March 18 lunch will be hosted by the Mary Martha and Marie Lamb circles. The Rev. Kristen Heiden will be the speaker.

Brent and Tiffany(Naler) Kostuch of Senoia announce the birth of their son, Henry Alan Kostuch, at 3:31 p.m. on Feb. 15, 2010, at Piedmont-Fayette Hospital in Fayetteville. Henry weighed 4 lbs., 12 oz., and was 18 inches long. Grandparents are Norman and Helen Naler of Brooks and Ray and Darlene Kostuch of Fayetteville.
