A Senoia wwoman was critically injured in an April 17 crash on Ga. Highway 16 when her vehicle struck a tractor-trailer rig.

Senoia Police Maj. Steve Tomlin said officers responded at approximately 5:10 p.m. to the two-vehicle accident that occurred in the area of Hwy. 16 and Harper Road. Read More»

Senoia swats back at unusual lawsuit

Senoia city attorney Drew Whalen has filed a response to the March 15 lawsuit filed in Coweta County Superior Court by resident Don Rehman against the mayor and city council over a city ordinance that he maintains amounts to a requirement that all males within city limits be required to possess one ounce or more of marijuana. Whalen in the response said the city ordinance making possession of less than an ounce a misdemeanor is not in violation of state law and that Rehman is asking the court for an advisory opinion on what in his mind is a political issue or question. Senoia family featured on ‘Family Feud’

A Senoia family will try to prove they have the right stuff as they try to take down a family from Michigan on the “Family Feud” television game show that will be aired April 22.

The Pope family from Senoia will face off against the Parker Family from Lansing, Mich., in front of a live studio audience in Atlanta with the chance to win up to $100,000 and a brand new car, along with some serious bragging rights, said Family Feud spokesperson Megan Barker. Nissan dealership planned for Newnan

Pornography awareness workshop offered

A special workshop, “The Hidden Dangers of Pornography, Its Infiltration into Family, Church, and Society,” will be offered on Saturday, April 27, from 9 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. at the Cathedral of Christ the King in Sharpsburg.

Dr. Judy Massey, who directs the ministry development department for the Diocese of the Mid-South (Charismatic Episcopal Church), has announced that the workshop will be led by David and Carol Winkles of Trinity Fellowship Assemblies of God Church, Sharpsburg, and by The Rev. A 113,300 square-foot medical office and retail development is being proposed on 15.13 acres on the northwest corner of Poplar Road and Newnan Crossing Bypass East near Interstate 85.
