Robert Beasley of Senoia

Mr. Robert Beasley of Senoia, Ga. passed away on Tuesday, January 29, 2013. He was a World War II Veteran and a Veteran of the Korean War.

He is survived by two sons, Jonathan Beasley and Karl Beasley; two grandchildren, Hanna and Alison Beasley and two brothers, Grady and Ike Beasley.

There will be a Graveside Service for Mr. Robert Beasley on Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at 2 p.m. in the Georgia National Cemetery located in Canton, Georgia. Read More»

Voting Tues. for empty House D-71 seat

Tuesday is the last chance for Peachtree City and east Coweta residents to vote in the special election to fill the vacant District 71 seat in the Georgia House of Representatives.

Although Coweta resident Robert Stokely won election last year, he withdrew from the position in December after being offered a full-time job in Coweta Magistrate Court. That has left the district, which encompasses much of east Coweta County and two small areas in northwest Peachtree City, without a representative as the general assembly cranked up several weeks ago. Newnan author pens books for kids

Author and Newnan resident Tricia Kvidt enjoys acting and the arts. But recently Kvidt, who is also the mother of four young daughters, has turned her creative experience to writing books for children. The three-book series is entitled “The girl and the little brown mouse.”

Kvidt explained that her idea for the series of three books was loosely based on her six-year-old daughter. The first two books, “Friends Forever” and “Big Sisters” are currently available at Amazon and www.createspace.com while the third in the series, The Goodbye,” is expected to be available by April. The Carnegie and Newnan Coweta Art Association rotate art for the spring

The Carnegie and the Newnan Coweta Art Association have partnered up to present a variety of art. The Newnan Coweta Art Association has rotating exhibits in the Carnegie. There is an art gallery on the second level. Parenteen seminar should give insights on raising teenagers

Trinity Fellowship Church in Sharpsburg will host a free Parenteen seminar led by Chap Clark Saturday, Feb. 9, from 1:30-5:30 p.m. on the campus of Trinity Fellowship just west of Peachtree City, 8814 Highway 54, Sharpsburg. Clark is a professor and author with over 30 years of experience of guiding teenagers and the adults who influence them.
