Senoia adds projects for 1-cent sales tax extension

It was a look a Senoia’s future needs that led to the Aug. 15 vote by the City Council to approve a number of projects to be included in a larger countywide project list that would extend Coweta County’s current 1-cent sales tax. The $3.12 million list was forwarded to the Coweta County Commission and will be included in the larger list expected to go before voters in 2012. Read More»

Senoia puts Sunday package sales on Nov. ballot

The idea of allowing packaged alcohol sales on Sundays in Senoia will be up to voters on Nov. 8. The Senoia City Council Aug. 15 adopted an ordinance paving the way for the referendum that could allow Sunday package sales of beer and wine.

The ordinance stipulates that, if approved by voters, Sunday sales between 12:30 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. could begin on Nov. 20.

The council in June addressed the potential for the Sunday sale of packaged alcohol, voting 3-1 to have a proposed ordinance drawn up for the council’s consideration in August. Read More»

Senoia Tea Party celebrates first anniversary

It has been one year since the Senoia Tea Party Patriots held its organizational meeting. The group since its inception has been active in addressing local, state and national issues. Senoia to hold town hall meeting Aug. 18

The Senoia Downtown Development Authority will hold a town hall meeting Aug. 18 to solicit input from citizens on ways to improve their hometown and to learn what types of business and services residents would like to see in the future.

The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. at the Freeman Sasser building located at the Seavy Street Park. A light meal will also be served during the meeting. Read More»

Senoia Area Historical Society invites public to come out and learn more

The Senoia Area Historical Society museum was opened in July 2010 and is open each Friday and Saturday, 1-4 p.m.

Senoia Farmers Market open Aug. 13

The Senoia Farmers Market will place on Saturday, August 13th, in the parking lot next to City Hall on Main Street in downtown Senoia.  The Market will be open from 8 a.m. to noon. A variety of locally grown produce, homemade canned goods, and specialty items will be available.
