Senoia Area Blood Drive on November 7th

The Optimist Club of Senoia will sponsor a blood drive for the Senoia area on Monday, November 7.  The community drive will be held in the Fellowship Hall of the Senoia United Methodist Church.  The hours of the drive will be from 1-6 p.m.  Since this will be the last blood drive in Senoia before the upcoming holidays, local Donor Recruitment Representative Julie Tilson of the American Red Cross (ARC) explained that people are encouraged to “make a donation before vacation." Holiday auction for Senoia Area Historical Society next Saturday evening

Senoia Area Historical Society will hold its Annual Holiday Auction on Saturday, November 12 at the society’s house and museum, 6 Couch Street, Senoia.

Senoia cop nabs man in child exploitation case

A McDonough man on Oct. 24 entered a guilty plea in Coweta County Superior Court on charges of computer pornography and child exploitation related to an undercover operation conducted by the Senoia Police Department.

The guilty plea entered by Marc B. Babischkin, 47, followed a September indictment by the Coweta County Grand Jury on charges of computer pornography, child exploitation and obscene Internet contact with a child, according to Senoia Police Investigator Alicia Batts.

New welcome center, retail set to open in Senoia

It was just over a year ago that the Senoia Downtown Development Authority purchased the old police department buildings on Main Street. The idea behind purchasing the city property was to renovate the buildings so that one could serve as the welcome center and the other could be leased to a business.

DDA agreed last September to purchase the circa 1912 buildings for $27,000 and the City Council accepted the offer on a 4-1 vote. Per the agreement, DDA said it would be responsible for the rehab work that would be needed. Read More»

Mary Ann Roy, of Senoia, passed away on Oct. 17, 2011. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Langley, two infant daughters, and an uncle, Darrell Pritchard.

She is survived by her former husband and friend, Fardeen Roy of Decatur; daughter Emily Roy of Senoia; father, Robert J. Senoia candidates forum coming Oct. 27

It is about time for the candidates for the Senoia City Council races to have their say. And that question period will come on Oct. 27 at the new Municipal Court building on Oct. 27.

The forum is being hosted by the Senoia Tea Party Patriots and is expected to feature incumbents Bobby Graham and Maurice Grover and challengers Todd Baggarly, Harry Ramos and Don Rehman.

Senoia Tea Party Patriots Coordinator Joe Cannin said the purpose of the forum is to allow the citizens of Senoia to hear the candidate’s views on city issues. Read More»
