Mr. (R.E.) "Papa Gene" Stell, Jr. of Senoia passed away on May 29, 2012.

Mr. Stell was retired from Delta Air Lines after 33 years of service.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Linda Surls Stell; sons, Brian Stell and his wife, Zannett of Villa Rica; Joe Stell and his wife, Kathy of Fayetteville; Mike Stell and his wife, Maria of Atlanta; and Keith Stell and his wife, Jill of Douglasville; sister, Huldah Short of Senoia; 10 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter. Senoia library opens to large crowd

It’s about a picturesque a setting as it gets. For a home it would be a pleasure but as a library it is nearly beyond belief. And it was at that setting on Wednesday that a large crowd gathered for the opening of the new Senoia library on Pylant Street.

The 6,563 square-foot library is situated on 1.04-acres on Pylant Street and is bound on the north by residential property, on the south by the city-owned Marimac Lake. The library has parking space for 35 vehicles. Read More»

Robert Earl Smith, 61, of Senoia

Mr. Robert Earl "Bobby" Smith, of Senoia, passed away on April 26, 2012 at the age of 61.

Senoia councilmen Maurice Grover and Jeff Fisher made a short presentation at the April 17 meeting of the Coweta County Commission to request that the city and county form a partnership to enhance the city’s recreation amenities at Leroy Johnson Park.

Senoia Mayor Robert Belisle in a March 20 letter to commissioners referenced the city’s recently completed 20-year master plan for parks and recreation that recommended increasing the number of active and passive recreation amenities and recreational trails. Read More»
