Senoia candidates forum coming Oct. 27

It is about time for the candidates for the Senoia City Council races to have their say. And that question period will come on Oct. 27 at the new Municipal Court building on Oct. 27.

The forum is being hosted by the Senoia Tea Party Patriots and is expected to feature incumbents Bobby Graham and Maurice Grover and challengers Todd Baggarly, Harry Ramos and Don Rehman.

Senoia Tea Party Patriots Coordinator Joe Cannin said the purpose of the forum is to allow the citizens of Senoia to hear the candidate’s views on city issues. Read More»

Beyond the Door has grand opening Oct. 1

Ann Busey, proprietor of Beyond the Door in historic Senoia, Georgia announces the grand opening of her unique home décor shop Saturday, October 1, 10 a.m-7 p.m.

Beyond the Door has moved to 30 Main Street into the newly restored old Hollberg building. The restoration brought back the original charm of the building revealing the brick walls, hidden windows, and high ceilings. Senoia to be cruisin’ on Saturday

It’s that time again. And, as usual, Senoia will be packed on Sept. 24 with an endless variety of vintage vehicles arriving for the 7th Annual Cruisin’ to the Oldies Car Show. The car show on Main Street will run from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. and will feature live music and plenty of food.

Senoia Downtown Development Authority Chairman Suzanne Helfman commenting on this year’s event said it is expected to feature at least 250 cars. The car show this year is limiting entries to those vehicles from 1986 or older, Helfman added. Read More»

Sharpsburg man found dead on railroad tracks in Senoia

Thirty-three-year-old Sharpsburg resident Eric Waters was found dead on the CSX railroad tracks near downtown Senoia during the nighttime hours of Sept. 6. Though he was apparently hit by the train, the investigation into Waters' death is active and ongoing.

Commenting on the death, Senoia Police Investigator Alicia Batts said an employee on the scene in a train on the CSX tracks called 911 at 8:36 p.m. Senoia officers arriving at the railroad tracks in the area of Coweta Street and Ray Street found Waters dead when they arrived, Batts said. Kostuch - birth

Brent and Tiffany(Naler) Kostuch of Senoia announce the birth of their son, Nicholas Raymond Kostuch, at 8:01a.m. on April 23, 2011, at Piedmont-Fayette Hospital in Fayetteville. Nicholas weighed 6 lbs., 9 oz. and was 19.5 inches long. Grandparents are Norman and Helen Naler of Brooks and Ray and Darlene Kostuch of Fayetteville.

Senoia, Palmetto to see contested races

Qualifying is over and up next for voters in Senoia and Palmetto is choosing who will represent them for the next four years. Voters in Senoia’s contested races will decide on two City Council seats while those in Palmetto will decide on candidates for mayor and two council seats. The qualifying period resulted in no contested races in Sharpsburg.
